“Women more driven to scary stories like  rape, murder, serial killers “, recent study states.

This study has proved the old critics wrong, where it is said  Men are  more driven towards the former stories.

The reason behind this move is that Women are more scared of the crimes that is happening in their neighborhood.  In order to prevent themselves of being a murdered victim, they are depending more on the scary books inorder to prepare themselves.

While writing in inaugural issue of Social Psychological and Personality Science by Sage, authors Amanda M. Vicary and R. Chris Fraley said a woman fears becoming the victim of a crime so she turns to true crime books in a possible effort to learn strategies and techniques to prevent becoming murdered.

However, with each true crime book she reads, this woman learns about another murderer and his victims, thereby increasing her awareness and fear of crime.

“It is not possible to state with certainty from these studies whether or not this vicious cycle occurs,” they said.

“But we do know that women, compared to men, have a heightened fear of crime despite the fact that they are less likely to become a victim,” they added.

I have been thinking on this for few time now, does  it really helps them of  not being a victim????

Methuen Woman Sees Jesus On Her Iron

A Massachusetts woman who recently separated from her husband, had her hours at work cut, and moved into an apartment, says an image of Jesus Christ she sees on her iron has reassured her that “life is going to be good.”

Mary Jo Coady first noticed the image on Sunday when she walked into her daughter’s room.

The brownish residue on the bottom of the iron looks like the face of a man with long hair.

The 44-year-old Coady, who was raised Catholic, and her two college-age daughters agree that the image looks like Jesus and is proof that “he’s listening.”

Coady tells The Eagle-Tribune she hopes her story will inspire others during the holidays. She says she plans to keep the iron in a closet and buy a new one.

Bizarre calf mutilations found on U.S. ranch

A creepy string of calf mutilations in southern Colorado has a rancher and sheriff’s officials mystified.

Four calves were found dead in a pasture just north of the New Mexico state line in recent weeks. The dead calves had their skins peeled back and organs cleared from the rib cage. One calf had its tongue removed.

But rancher Manuel Sanchez has found no signs of human attackers, such as footprints or ATV tracks. And there are no signs of an animal attack by a coyote or mountain lion. Usually predators leave pools of blood or drag marks from carrying away the livestock.

Two officers from the Costilla County Sheriff’s Office have investigated the mutilations but say they don’t know what’s killing the calves.

“There’s nothing really to go by,” said Sanchez, who’s ranched for nearly 50 years. “I can’t figure it out.”

A spokesman for the sheriff’s office told The Pueblo Chieftain that investigators doubt a person butchered the calves because there is no blood at the scene.

“I’ve butchered a cow before and I know what kind of a mess it leaves,” Sgt. James Chavez said.

Some in the area believe the mutilations are the work of aliens. An area UFO chaser, Chuck Zukowski of Colorado Springs, has been to the Costilla County pasture to investigate.

He told the paper there have been other unexplained calf mutilations in the area, including three in March. One of the other calves, found dead on a ranch near Trinidad, had its ears removed, Zukowski said.

“We’re trying as much as we can to find a pattern,” said Zukowski, who runs a UFO Web site called ufonut.com.

Sanchez said he has sold off his 32 remaining calves out of fear more would be mutilated. He hasn’t decided how he’ll manage the remaining 40 animals in his herd.

“It’s a big loss for a small rancher,” he said.

For construction worker Jose Paulino, four cracked ribs after an eight-story fall were — well, a lucky break, CBS station WCBS-TV reports.

The 29-year-old native of the Dominican Republic celebrated Christmas in a hospital bed after the accident that sent him plummeting off a midtown Manhattan building — from a 16th floor plank onto scaffolding below.

“I took a step, and I was falling, falling, falling,” he said later. “It felt like it was happening to somebody else.”

He tried to grab onto something, “but I just kept falling and falling, and I thought I might die.”

Paulino was part of a crew dismantling scaffolding at the 20-story building in the garment district on Thursday afternoon, after some repair work.

Suddenly, a plank snapped under his feet.

“It was horrible seeing him fall through the air so fast, and when he landed, I thought he was dead,” said his brother, Juan Paulino, who was also part of the work crew.

Police responded to the scene, and Jose Paulino was rushed to St. Vincent’s Hospital, where he was in stable condition and recuperating on Saturday. He also hurt his neck, shoulder and leg.

“I was hurting and in pain, but I knew I was still alive, and right then I knew I would see my wife and kids again,” said the Bronx resident, calling his lucky break “the best Christmas present ever.”

A lineup of relatives and friends showed up at the hospital on Christmas Day. Some brought the worker’s favorite comfort food: sancocho, a stew of meat, potatoes and plantain.

The family — including his wife, 2-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son — planned to celebrate Christmas when he is released from the hospital, probably next week. Source : wbztv.com

In a bizarre incident in China, Police hand-cuffed a runaway bull that was causing chaos through city center streets.

The Bull caused traffic chaos in Liuzhou, in southern china’s Gauangzi province.

Pedestrians ran for their lives as the wildered animal charged through shopping ares.

After more than two hours of chasing the terrified animal around the city, police manged to catch it.

With the help of passersby, they managed to restrain the animal and cuff uts front legs to prevent it from hurting itself.

“It kept struggling to get away again. So we had to cuff it to stop it struggling”, said a police spokesperson.

HP Cameras are Racist

A YouTube video suggesting that face recognition cameras installed in HP laptops cannot detect black faces has had over one million views.

The short movie, uploaded earlier this month, features “Black Desi” and his colleague “White Wanda”.

When Wanda, a white woman, is in front of the screen, the camera zooms to her face and moves as she moves.

But when Desi, a black man, does the same, the camera does not respond by tracking him.

The clip is light-hearted in tone but is titled “HP computers are racist”.

“HP has been informed of a potential issue with the facial-tracking software included on some of its systems, which appears to occur when insufficient foreground lighting is available,” an HP spokesman told BBC News.

“We take this seriously and are looking into it with our partners.”

LOL, HP can end up in a lot of problem if someone sues it over this.

This is really embarrassing and disgusting! Two female teachers of James Madison High School in Brooklyn were caught naked in a classroom by the school cleaner. Looks like the two teachers were enjoying a naked romp in the classroom. They both have been suspended. The French Teacher  Cindy Mauro(33-years-old) and Spanish teacher Alini Brito(29-years-old) apparently found a empty class room and got themselves naked and started enjoying a naked romp. Oh God! I really want to stop writing about this article.

Sources told the Daily News the local education department has removed both teachers from classes and placed them in one of New York’s “rubber rooms”, or Temporary Reassignment Centres, while the alleged incident is investigated.

The lewd November 20 episode has created waves at the school, with students even starting up a Facebook group to talk online about the teachers.

“Now you guys wished we installed cameras in our classrooms after all hmm?” one unnamed student wrote in the 500-member group.

School janitor Robert Calantuoni refused to speak to the newspaper but Brito’s husband said he was unaware of the accusations.

The teachers were both very popular at the school, students say.

“(Ms Mauro) was pretty fun,” 18-year-old student Eddie Ramirez told the Daily News.

“She dressed like a teenage girl — she’d wear low-cut tops, shorts, three-quarter length jeans — she was kinda sexy.”

Mr Ramirez said rumours had spread through the school quickly but staff members were trying to quell it.

An education department spokesman confirmed a probe into the allegations was underway and both teachers had been reassigned pending its outcome.
