Apple iphone4 problems

Posted by Shane On June - 24 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

Apple 4 has just been released and boy, it lands up in  various issues and dissatisfaction from the customers. Tut, tut, this time it didnt worked for Apple.

It seems that customer are really facing issues with . So here is a post which tells you 5 big flaws of the apple 4 (source : Yahoo)

Here are five bruises on the new Apple that may engender complaint.

No. 5: A Skimpy Camera

As smartphone challengers like HTC, Motorola (MOTNews) and Nokia (NOKNews) embrace the megapixel race with 8-megapixel and 12-megapixel cameras, Apple’s new keeps it cheap with a 5-megapixel model.

This will be a bigger point of contention this week when Verizon (VZNews) and Motorola unveil the Droid X Wednesday, the newest Google (GOOGNews) Android phone, which features an 8-megapixel camera. Android phone giant HTC has also been generous with 8-megapixel cameras in its Droid Incredible and Sprint’s (SNews) EVO.

Meanwhile, Apple, always the laggard in cameras, won’t enter the 8-megapixel class until next year when it debuts a sweet Sony (SNENews) camera in its 2011 . But by then, who knows where the rest of the pack will be?

No. 4: No Swype

If you’ve seen Swype or used it, you know why this omission makes the list. Typing on a touchscreen is a challenge as the flat glass surface offers few clues to where your fat fingers are precisely making contact. It’s an error-prone process that gives one a longing for the raised keys of the BlackBerry keyboard from Research In Motion (RIMMNews).

But the Swype keypad software helps tame the new medium. Swype follows the pattern of your finger movements to type words or predict words without the usual hunting and pecking.

Apple did wonders with the touchscreen, but Swype makes it more useful for those among us who like to type.

No. 3: Video Calling

Okay, it’s not totally bait and switch, but Apple’s hot new video calling feature, FaceTime, comes with lots of asterisks and a limited applicability.

Say you want to video chat with someone using the Apple 4. That someone has to have a WiFi connection and he has to use the same application on his own 4. You’re looking at a small club of people — not exactly an application of global Skype-like proportions.

No. 2: 4 Shortages

Strong demand is only half the story for Apple’s sales debut. Limited supply is the other. A shortage of in-plane display panels, the crucial part of Apple’s touted retina display screens, has forced Apple’s contract manufacturers to cut production rates in half to 1 million iPhones a month.

This means there won’t be enough iPhones on hand to meet the presumably high demand. Though it’s not a terrible problem to have if you are a gadget maker, sellouts and delivery delays will mar Apple’s big 4 debut. The frustration could push buyers toward other phones.

No. 1: No Verizon .

A new is big. But a new at Verizon? Much bigger.

Apple’s exclusive partnership with AT&T (TNews) has been a point of discord among owners and it has tarnished the public perception of both companies. It also has done almost nothing for AT&T’s stock.

Investors have been waiting for the Verizon . But that’s apparently not going to happen until next year, if ever.

So Apple fans who want the new have to lock in for another two years with AT&T. This scenario is not particularly pleasant considering that AT&T’s new subscriber plans put penalties on people (like users) who happen to be heavy data users.

Windows 7 Review!

Windows 7 Review!

Windows 7 Review!

I am back! after a long break ;) . I was messing around with Windows 7 and finally decided to give it a shot. And so that what brings me here, a review! Before we go into the review. Let me let you guys know the configuration or System specification of the machine in which I tested Windows 7. Here they are:

MotherBoard : Intel 915 GAV

Processor :  Pentium IV 3.2Ghz

Ram : 512MB

Hard Disk : 250GB Segate

And a 16″ Viewsonic LCD monitor

Yes, this system surely does not meet the minimum requirements of Windows 7, so what ? I decided to give it a shot anyway. With all the positive feedback I saw on the internet I wanted to blame Windows 7 for not working in my system :) .

I started the installation process waiting for a warning, but non came. It took over 45mins to install. Thats kinda quick, it looks like W7 takes around 30 mins to install in a system that meets its requirements.

After the installation was done, I got the desktop, The resolution was crappy. I wanted to open and test Internet Explorer to see how much this can handle. But it looks like my network was not connected. I couldn’t believe that Windows7 by default didn’t have my LAN Drivers. Anyway, after about more that one hour of searching online for drivers I finally decided to check if I have its CD. I got it! After installing still my LAN card was not working. Then finally did a manual install from Device Manager to connect to the internet. Everything seems so far so good.

I got my MotherBoard Disk to install the drivers it didn’t autoplay due to some illegal operation. Tried running them manually and installed the graphics drivers and the sound drivers after restart I noticed that the sound software was not working in w7 so after ditching it tested if the audio was ok and it was!

I still had a crappy resolution, I downloaded the monitor drivers and installed them to fix that issue. Now all seems well, I opened more than 10 tabs in IE and didn’t have a snag. I decided its time to install all the Messengers and programs. I installed Yahoo, Gtalk, MSN, VLC Player, firefox 3.6 and Chrome. So far so good no problems yet.

I decided its time for the anti-virus program. I installed BitDefender 2010 Total Security with all the services enabled. Now I started to notice a small snag at the start-up but was normal after that.

I was really surprised that Windows 7 was doing so well in such a crappy system. I check the memory usage it was using around 68% with majority begin used by antivirus program BitDefender.

Its been 2 days so far and I have started using the system normally as I would browse it seems so smooth.

You guys really need to give it a try. Its very smooth and a lots of features that makes life easy. It boots in less than 30 seconds!

It looks like finally joined the race in making a better OS. HATS OFF! to for WINDOWS 7!

Google’s OS is coming!!

Google Chrome

Google Chrome

Oh Yea! Google has posted in its blog that its planning to release its OS called as Google Chrome OS, and guess what? its Open Source!. Initailly the Operating System will be built and targeted for netbooks. The company intends to open-source its code later this year for netbooks to commence running Google Chrome OS. It’s estimated that the OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010.

Google is very well known for its Search engine, but apart from that they have also been successful in their (Gmail), Google Earth and their mobile OS.

They’ve stated in their blog that speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of the Google Chrome OS. The user interface is minimal to stay out of your way, and most of the user experience takes place on the web. They’ve also said that they intend to get back to basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don’t have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates.

Google has also stated in its blog its OS as ‘a natural extension of Google Chrome – the Google Chrome Operating System.’

Google Chrome OS will run on both x86 as well as ARM chips. They also mention that they are working with multiple OEMs to bring a number of netbooks to market by next year. The software architecture is simple — Google Chrome running within a new windowing system on top of a Linux kernel.

For application developers, the web is the platform. All web-based applications will automatically work and new applications can be written using your favorite web technologies. And of course, these apps will run not only on Google Chrome OS, but on any standards-based browser on Windows, Mac and Linux thereby giving developers the largest user base of any platform.

I am quite exicited and can’t wait to use Google Chrome Operating System. As home users we have been virtual faithful slaves to Windows. Its about time the world opens up to new options of Operating Systems.

Personally I don’t like the name “Google Chrome Operating System”, can’t they think of a better name ?? Infact, I didn’t really like Google Chrome browser. I couldn’t find a good reason for why I must switch to Chrome as my primary browser. Though I do use Chrome on daily basis as some websites are best viewed in Chrome.
