Nascar Driver Tweets from Car!

Posted by Riz On February - 28 - 2012ADD COMMENTS

Wow! Nascar Driver Brad Keselowski does what a social media addict does. He tweets right from his car during the race.

Holy cow! Did he tweet while driving?

well, the answer to that would probably be a No. Keselowski’s fellow driver Juan Pablo Montoya crashed into a safety vehicle mid-race.

The collision and jet fuel — the safety vehicle reportedly holds 200 gallons of jet kerosene — sparked a huge ball of fire, although both vehicles’ drivers appeared to avoid serious injury. The race was halted.

From his spot in the racecar traffic jam, Keselowski sent tweets to his less than 85,000 followers and ended up getting a 184,000 followers on the whole in just 1 hour.

Anyway, he ended up with an accident later when the race resumed. As the saying goes, dont use mobile while driving. Bet the driver learned it a hard way.

Probably the strangest story from Mets, New York Mets pitcher Jonathon Niese arrived at the team’s camp on Monday and said that he had received a nose job over the offseason.

Jonathon Niese had a successful nose surgery thanks to the  advice from his ex team mate Carlos Beltran who will now play for San Francisco Giants.

Seems like Carlos Beltran been stressing Niese to go for nose surgery for aesthetic concerns which has now turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Niese.

“He wanted me to have a new nose,” Niese said, “so he offered to pay for it.”

When Niese visited a doctor after the end of the regular season, it became clear that there could be some ancillary benefits, as well.

“Carlos wanted to do it,” Niese said, laughing. “I couldn’t say no. But then it turned into fixing it, too.”

Niese said he has always had trouble breathing through his nose, which he felt hindered him during cardiovascular exercise. It never occurred to him, though, that a surgical procedure could remedy the problem.

The doctor conducted a scan that showed Niese’s nasal passageways were obstructed, but that they could be reconstructed to facilitate airflow. Niese had the procedure done in October, a few days before his birthday.

The difference in his breathing now, Niese said, is like “night and day.”

Lol! He also added that, Carlos is yet to pay the bill for him , jokingly quoting, he may send the bill to Carlos for payment.

Victoria Azarenka is World No.1

Victoria Azarenka won her first grand slam title and became the new world number one when she thrashed a disappointing Maria Sharapova in the Australian Open final on Saturday.

The third-seeded Belarusian overpowered the 2008 champion to win 6-3, 6-0 in 82 minutes to lift the trophy and become the fourth women’s first-time grand slam winner in a row.

“I can’t wait to be back next year, I’ve had an amazing month in Australia. It’s a dream true,” said Azarenka.

Azarenka came from 0-2 down in the first set to win 12 of the next 13 games for a comprehensive victory, as Sharapova’s game disintegrated in the face of all-out aggression from the Belarusian.

Sharapova made 30 unforced errors, while Azarenka played almost flawlessly at times with only 12 errors across the two sets.

Azarenka won the toss and chose to serve, but she started nervously and dished up two double-faults on her way to dropping the first game.

Azarenka, who won the girls’ singles crown in 2005, became only the third woman in the open era to win the junior and senior titles at the Australian Open after Evonne Goolagong Cawley and Chris O’Neil.

She is also the first Belarusian to win a grand slam title, going one better than Natasha Zvereva, who finished runner up at the French Open in 1998.

Posted by Riz On January - 27 - 2012ADD COMMENTS

Rahul Dravid, the legendary Indian Cricketer nicknamed The Wall for his solid defense against the opponent, may retire after the Australian Test series, unconfirmed reports suggest.

Dravid, aged 39,  has supposed to have said to his fellow team mates that he may hang his boots pretty soon.

The sources also report that, Dravid had been disappointed after getting out to Australia in the 4th test match which is currently underway where India is looking into the face of defeat yet again.

Dravid, has scored more than 13,ooo thousand test runs. He has captained Indian cricket team from 2005- 2007.

Dravid stands second to Sachin Tendulkar as the highest run getter  in Test history and also he holds the record of taking most number of catches in Test history.

The readers should note that, late last year, Dravid announced his retirement from ODI and T20 Internationals.

We will update you, once Rahul Dravid, announces his retirement.

The Canadian freestyle skier Sarah Burke died today at just 29. She crashed on Jan 10 during her training. Sarah Burke was an X Games star with a grass-roots mentality — a daredevil superpipe skier who understood the risks inherent to her sport and the debt she owed to it for her success on the slopes.

“Sarah was the one who, in a very positive way, stood in the face of adversity and asked, ‘Why not?’” said Peter Judge, the CEO of Canada’s freestyle team. “What she would have wanted was for her teammates and others in her sport to stand up and also say, ‘Why not?’ To benefit from the significant opportunities available to them, being able to compete in the Olympics and the X Games. Those were the things she wanted and cherished and fought for.”

A four-time Winter X Games champion, Burke crashed on the same halfpipe where snowboarder Kevin Pearce sustained a traumatic brain injury during a training accident on Dec. 31, 2009.

Tests revealed she sustained “irreversible damage to her brain due to lack of oxygen and blood after cardiac arrest,” according to a statement released by her publicist, Nicole Wool, on behalf of the family.

Burke will be remembered as much for the hardware she collected as the legacy she left for women in superpipe skiing, a sister sport to the more popular snowboarding brand that has turned Shaun White, Hannah Teter and others into stars.

Australia Shows Who’s the Boss here

Australian cricket team has won the 3rd test match against India by an Innings and 37 runs thereby sealing the series with 3-0 with one more test match to be played yet.

Looks like India’s tour of Australia has turned into a disaster. Australia not only won the matches straight third time but also have secured a back to back Innings victory over India whereas India has lost 7 test in a row abroad.

Readers should know, India also lost 4 test in a row against England in England.

Aussies shows Whose the Boss here

Aussies are back to claim their dominion in the World Cricket which they lost 2 years ago to India. India has been enjoying the status of No 1 team quite some while now thanks to the heroics of a few.

Captain Marvel as they say to Indian Captain Dhoni has started to get bad audience among the Media who are not in mood to favor him anyway. I am glad that Dhoni is not buying into what Media says but its annoying that his control over the team has been scattered like a broken glass.

Disappointed Dhoni already hinted that he will retire from playing Test in 2013.

Coming back to the 3rd test match at Perth, the match started with a disaster as always Virender Sehwag failed to click with the bat and the entire team collapse.

Batting greats as they say to Sachin, Dravid, Laxman, failed in this entire series.

From the bowling end, Yadav showed the potential and hunger for Cricket but it was nothing for Aussies batsman who scored big hundreds throughout the series.

Man, Siddle, Ben Hilfenhaus,  made India struggle to even hold the cricket bat properly.

Congrats Australia for the Heroics.
