The upside down house in Austria has become quite and attraction especially for tourists. Well, this house was indeed designed to be a tourist attraction.

The western Austrian village of Terfens has unveiled a house that is literally upside down, both on the inside and out. The house was designed by two Polish architects, Irek Glowacki and Marek Rozhanski, and is meant to be a tourist attraction.

Upside down houseThe house is open for public viewing and includes an upside down garage, children’s bedroom and even bathroom.

Over the years, there have been several fictional portrayals of upside houses, though those usually involved simply placing the items in an otherwise normal house onto the room’s ceiling. As you can see from the photos, this is a truly unusual creation, where the actual house itself, including the foundation, appears to be fully turned on its head.

If you want to see an even larger version of an upside down spectacle in nature, you could always check out the Pic de Bugarach in France; a mountain whose peak is believed to have turned on itself during an eruption thousands of years ago, creating an “upside down” mountain.

The South Korean government revealed Monday that it recently seized thousands of capsules filled with the powdered flesh of dead babies. Reportedly, some people believe the powder has medicinal purposes and was created in northeastern China.

Powdered baby capsulesSouth Korea has reportedly been reluctant to criticize China directly over the incident, out of fears of creating diplomatic friction with the country. But the process by which the powder is allegedly created is one of the most disturbing stories imaginable.

According to the Korea Customs Service, the bodies of dead babies are chopped into small pieces and dried on stoves before being turned into powder. The customs officials have refused to say exactly where the babies come from or who is responsible for making the capsules.

China has already been in the spotlight over activist Chen Guangcheng, whose work involves protesting the government’s sterilization and forced abortion policies. It was recently reported that China is working to “soften” its one-child policy slogans, though not the actual policy itself.

Last year, Chinese officials ordered an investigation into the manufacturing of drugs made from dead fetuses or newborn babies. Nonetheless, South Korean officials said in a statement they have discovered 35 smuggling attempts since last August, during which 17,450 capsules labeled as “stamina boosters” were discovered. Rather than containing any inherent medicinal properties, the capsules are said to contain dangerous bacteria and other harmful, unspecified ingredients.

Amazingly, none of the smugglers have been arrested in the various confiscations because the South Korean customs officials said the amounts of human flesh contained in the capsules were too small and were not intended for direct sale. The smugglers claimed to have no knowledge of the human flesh content, saying they believed the capsules were ordinary stamina-boosting pills.

The police are baffled by the mysterious death of a track worker whose body was found in a horse stable just a few hours after I’ll Have Another was crowned champion of the Kentucky Derby.

Police continue to investigate the case and has ruled the death as Homicide but they have no suspects. The body was found just few barns away from where I’ll Have Another was stabled.

Autopsy results were expected later Monday for 48-year-old Adan Fabian Perez.

Kentucky derby murderAuthorities have no suspects but stressed that Perez’s killing had no apparent connection to the iconic horse race.

Louisville Police Lt. Barry Wilkerson said investigators are asking witnesses to come forward. There were several altercations in that area of Churchill Downs on Saturday night, and police are trying to determine if Perez’s death is connected to any of them, Wilkerson said.

“Our investigation is ongoing as to why he would have specifically been at this location,” said Alicia Smiley, spokeswoman for Louisville Metro Police.

As police called for witnesses, life on the backside of the track returned to normal, with trucks and horse trailers passing through the gates and hot walkers and exercise riders finishing their morning shifts giving horses their workouts. Hot walkers walk the horses to cool them off after a heavy workout.

Carlos Gomez, a 28-year-old exercise rider, said workers were talking about Perez’s death, but it wasn’t disrupting their work with the horses.

“Nobody knows what happened,” Gomez said.

Laura Belzia, a 38-year-old hot walker, said fights sometimes happen in the cramped quarters of the horse barns, but it doesn’t normally escalate to killings. Belzia, who lives in apartments outside the track, didn’t know Perez. But she said some of her co-workers may be reluctant to talk to police, either out of fear of the person who committed the crime or because they are in the country illegally.

“Nobody is going to tell what happened,” Belzia told The Associated Press. “Sometimes people here … get scared and quit talking.”

Although Montano’s barn is near where this year’s Derby winner is kept, there was little talk of the incident Sunday in the stable area.

Instead, I’ll Have Another’s trainer and owners were participating in the usual post-Derby media interviews and speculating about the next race in the Triple Crown, the Preakness Stakes, in three weeks.

About a week after last year’s Kentucky Derby, jockey Michael Baze’s body was found in a vehicle near the stables at the famed Louisville track. His death was ruled an accidental drug overdose.

Something is wrong with all the “deaths” surrounding Kentucky Derby. Maybe someone will soon blow the lid-off.

Japan’s Suzuki Motor said Monday it will recall about 109,000 Swift subcompact cars worldwide, half of them in Japan, to repair a defect that may cause petrol leakage.

Suzuki Recall Swift CarsThe cars were produced between September 2010 and last month with 55,146 of them shipped to the domestic market and 53,801 others exported outside the country, including Australia, Mexico, and Europe, a company spokesman said.

Suzuki said in a statement that a defect related to the rubber fuel filler hose could cause petrol to leak.

Four cases of such defects have been reported in Japan but they did not lead to any accidents, the company said.

“There have been no reports of such defects abroad,” the spokesman added. “About the exported cars, we will deal with them in keeping with local procedures of the countries concerned.”

In March, Suzuki recalled about 93,000 Swifts, including 45,800 in Japan, to repair the fuel filling system.

Just a few days back Newt Gingrich stepped down from the Presidential race, he was the last candidate after Mitt Romney that media believed had a chance. While Ron Paul was never dared even mentioned, Ron Paul has won not one but two states, Maine and Nevada.

Ron Paul supporters took control of the Maine Republican Convention and elected a majority slate supporting the Texas congressman to the GOP national convention, party officials said. The results gave the Texas congressman a late state victory.

In votes leading to the close of the two-day Maine convention, Paul supporters were elected to 21 of the 24 delegate spots from Maine to the GOP national convention in Tampa, Fla. The 24th delegate’s seat goes to party Chairman Charles Webster, who has remained uncommitted throughout the process.

Making the Paul takeover complete was the election of Paul supporters to a majority of the state committee seats.

“It’s certainly a significant victory,” said Jim Azzola of South Portland, Cumberland County coordinator for Paul.

Ron Paul is indeed the last man standing after media decided that it is Mitt Romney who will win the Presidential Bid. Will the media now give some attention to Ron Paul ? The media must know that they had already reported that Mitt Romney won both Maine and Nevada.

Romney’s aides say they do not view Paul as a threat to winning the nomination. But Romney and his team have also been mindful not to do or say anything that might anger Paul’s loyal supporters.

“I think he’s being very careful because he knows how important the Ron Paul voters are — they obviously represent a very different dynamic,” said Mike Dennehy, a former top aide to Republican John McCain’s 2008 campaign. “They are the most passionate and the most frustrated of any voters heading to the polls. And many of them are independents.”

The weekend’s turn of events — in a state neighboring one where Romney served as governor — would indicate the GOP has not yet united behind the presumptive nominee, and there are indications the infighting may last all the way to the national convention.

Ron Paul has won 20 of 23 in Nevada.

“Supermoon” 2012, The Biggest Moon!

Posted by Jack On May - 6 - 2012ADD COMMENTS

The moon today took the whole world for a ride by going super. “Supermoon” was a delight for the skywatchers around the world, who captured the lunar sight in dazzling amateur astronomy photos.

Twitter and Facebook has been abuzz with constant streams of photos of Supermoon being shared with friends and family.

Because of a fluke of orbital timing, the full moon of May peaked late Saturday just as the moon was passing its perigee, the closest point to Earth of its orbit. The result was the biggest full moon of the year, which NASA and other scientists nicknamed the supermoon of 2012.

In Amman, Jordan, the bright moon amazed skywatcher Carra Almond of Canton, N.C., who is currently living in Jordan with her husband. Almond said the moon was a captivating sight from her apartment balcony. Her photo shows a crystal clear moon shining bright against a black night sky. [Supermoon 2012 Photos from Around the World]

“I have taken several photos of the moon but have never taken one that turned out this good, and I had no idea the camera would zoom this far,” Almond told SPACE.com in an email. “I was so amazed by the results when I loaded it up on the computer.”

Here are some photos shared in the web.
