ESPN  has finally made its stand by taking over the rights to show 46 games of the next season English Premier League.  This will be the first time for ESPN to broadcast live premier league football in UK.  ESPN took over from Setanta  which was unable to pay the bill for the rights.

This gives ESPN an opportunity to telecast the game shows. It has now won the 23 games per season which was due to show from 2010-2013 by Setanta. The two Packages namely Saturday teatimes and Monday evenings will be eventually sold to customers through Sky.

The amount for rights purchase by ESPN is still unclear. Meanwhile, the Scottish Premier League (SPL) has taken back its UK rights for 2009/10 “and beyond” from Setanta after the Irish broadcaster missed a £3m payment. The SPL said it was now “actively engaging in the process of selling our domestic broadcasting rights”.English premire league

ESPN said in a statement it had “reached an agreement for its coverage to be retailed by Sky to residential and commercial customers”, who will pay extra to view the games. It also has plans of making the medium of league available with other platforms and the talks with Virgin Media confirmed it.

“This move demonstrates our commitment to British sports fans and our ongoing commitment to delivering football to fans around the world across a variety of media,” said Russell Wolff, managing director of ESPN International.

Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore said that ESPN had a “formidable worldwide reputation and experience in sports”.

I am sure we will enjoy a long and fruitful relationship with them,” he added

Internet users spend less time with family

Posted by Riz On June - 22 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

Here comes the most known report, the difference is  its proven now with the survey conducted throughout America.   Internet Users throughout America are facing less  Face to Face time with the Family members. There new interest  is in Social Networking, Online Browsing, Chat with new friends, hangout with friends, etc.,

Concentrating so much on social networking sites makes them fail in the family contact, survey reports . It was earlier reported through another  survey that Social Networking reduces the interest of teens  in studies. Now, the latest Survey reports  of  low and decreasing contacts and chats with family members.

This is real bad ah, family is first always  but  its hard  to leave  Internet as it contains so much entertainment. Teenage students also feel not only  in America but throughout the world that  “Without  Internet their life will be like Hell”.

The Survey was conducted by  by researchers at the Center for the Digital Future at the USC Annenberg School for Communication. Its shocking to learn from these reports  that  the rate of increase of  people who say  they are spending less time with family members have been jumped  from 11 percent in 2006  to  26 percent in 2008.

According to Researchers, reports of feeling ignored, at least sometimes, by family members using the Internet also grew by 40 percent over the same period.

Michael Gilbert, author of The Disposable Male and a senior fellow at the Center, says that diminishing family time coincides with the explosive growth of social networks and the importance people place on them, a trend first reported in the Center’s 2007 surveys. The most reports from a family comes from  Women in the family  reporting that they are being ignored most of the time by the internet user of the family.

Gilbert added : “The family is our social foundation, society’s basic building block. We need to guard its health in what otherwise seems to be a boundless digital future.”

An overexcited Australian pilot crashes his Helicopter after seeing a crocodile. The pilot along with his friend was on the air passing through the forest in the northern city of Darwin,Australia. The pilot spotted a crocodile and turned the copter to have a closer look on the crocodile.

The helicopter crashed and the next thing the pilot recalls was lying in the mud.  “The pilot said after starting the turn the next thing he remembered was being upside down in the mud,” the statement said.

Seeing his friend passenger injured and fearing that he might be in Hypothermia, the pilot rescued him from the crocodile and buried him in Sand leaving his head alone to breathe.

What is Hypothermia?

According to wikipedia, Hypothermia (from Greek ὑποθερμία) is a condition in which an organism’s temperature drops below that required for normal Metabolism and bodily functions.

Immediately after buring his friend, the pilot raised the alarm for Help. When the Medical officials arrived to the spot, they first thought that the man is dead. After seeing the head movement of the victim did the doctors recognised that he was alive.

Air ambulance operator Careflight said in a statement that the pilot had been flying along the Dundee Beach, 60km (37 miles) from Darwin, when he tried to turn to look at a crocodile. Ian Badham, director of Careflight, said the case was “bizarre”

“It turned out that the pilot had realized it might take rescue services until daylight to actually get there.”

Mr Badham said the passenger was being treated in hospital for head, chest and arm injuries.

How to Clean a CD Player

Posted by Riz On June - 21 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

Cleaning a CD player is easy as long as you know what you’re doing. You will need a cross-tip screwdriver, some 95% ethanol (found in pharmacies), WD40 or similar thin spray-grease, some cotton buds used for cleaning your ears

Steps

  • Make sure there is no CD in the player.
  • Disconnect the power cable. And I mean DISCONNECT! Don’t just hit the power button or leave it on standby.
  • Remove the top cover by unscrewing the screws with the screwdriver.
  • Once you did so, put the cover upside down and the screws inside it to keep them from losing.
  • Spray some WD40 on a cotton bud and grease the rails the laser slides onTo move the laser and grease the part of the rails under it, turn the biggest of the plastic cogwheels that move it.
  • Do not use excessive force when doing this.Take another cotton bud and dip in the ethanol.
  • Squeeze it between your fingers to remove excess ethanol. The bud must be damp, not dripping
  • Clean the lens of the laser with the ethanol-damped cotton bud.
  • Wait for a while until the ethanol evaporates from the lens.
  • Put the cover back on and fasten the screws.
  • Turn on the player without putting a disc in it.
  • If your player is a minisystem switch it to CD mode.
  • You will hear a sliding sound – that’s the laser returning to its proper position.
  • Put in a CD and enjoy
