Well, what do you know! we now have “The Awesome” WWE champion The Miz in a new movie role.

IMDB.com lists WWE performers Mike Mizanin (a/k/a The Miz) and Layla El (a/k/a Layla) as cast members of the upcoming movie Stainless Steel (2012).

The synopsis of the film reads: “Former underground out-law, John Steel is hired from the CIA to bring down 4 members of a silent corrupt group within the FBI.”

I think, The Miz is going to hit a jackpot with the WWE. finally WWE has motivated and recognized a  superstar other than John Cena and Triple H.

I still feel, have they shown the same sort of compassion with Batista, he might have not left WWE!

Do remember, we are in the beginning of very healthy feud between the Rock and Cena, if Steve Austin returns as the GM then the Hell will be brought down in the WWE.

Rent Movies for $1 via Redbox

Posted by Riz On February - 26 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Redbox is an American company that specializes in the rental of DVDs and video games via vending machines – currently with 25,000 kiosks.

Kiosks feature the company’s signature red color and arched top surface, visible in the corporate logo, and are located across the United States in fast food restaurants, pharmacies, grocery stores and convenience stores.

The availability of the movies for just $1 has been a huge popularity among the consumers says Serdar Durmusoglu, a University of Dayton assistant professor of marketing.

According to a study from the NPD Group, the share of videos rented from standalone kiosks increased 10 percent year-over-year during the third quarter of 2010, while the percentage of videos rented from traditional retail stores declined 13 percent and subscription rental share increased just 2 percent.

“Each Redbox kiosk features up to 200 titles and 630 movies, making it a fully automated video rental store contained in 12 square feet of retail space,” Brennan said.

The availability of movies in the convenient area locations, including select McDonald’s restaurants, Walmart, Walgreen’s, Meijer and Kroger stores has increased the people willingness  to rent the movie, which in turn has made the company the 5th largest DVD rental company by revenue.

Boy, it seems cool.   I reckon redbox methodology of renting a movie for a cheap rate may remove the piracy of movies on web.

Have you tried a movie from Redbox, if yes then do share your experience via comments with us.

US Growth Estimate Lowered

Posted by Tommy On February - 26 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

In a surprise and unexpected move the US Department of Commerce has cut its expected 4th-quarter growth from 3.2% to 2.8%.

While the government is expecting a lower growth, analysts were having a different opinion. They estimated the growth to be 3.3%.

Economic growth for the whole of 2010 was also revised down slightly, from 2.9% to 2.8%.

As well as lower state and local government spending during the final three months of last year, consumer spending grew at a slower rate than previously estimated.

Despite the downward revision, Wall Street gained ground in early trading, with the Dow Jones index rising 42 points to 12,110 as the price of oil retreated from the two-and-a-half year highs seen on Thursday.

The latest figure for final-quarter growth is the second estimate – the figure will be revised again next month.

It seems that unemployment seems to be the root of all evil. Lower consumer spending which lead to lower imports and ultimately started to have an effect on the profits.
