An American women who called herself ‘Jihad Jane’ online has admitted her role in a plot to kill a Swedish cartoonist who had offended Muslims.

Colleen LaRose, 47, helped foreign terror suspects intent on starting a holy war in Europe and South Asia, prosecutors said.

Colleen LaRose was also known online as ‘Fatima LaRose’. She was in custody since her arrest in October 2009 in Ireland along with other terror suspects.

The March 2010 indictment charged LaRose with conspiring with jihadist fighters and pledging to commit murder in the name of a Muslim holy war, or jihad. The indictment was announced after authorities arrested seven suspected terrorists in Ireland allegedly linked to LaRose.

The FBI recovered her emails messages over 15 months. In these emails LaRose agreed to marry an internet contact from South Asia so that he could move to Europe. She also agreed to become a martyr.

The man whom she agreed to marry over the internet in March 2009 sent her an email asking her to go to Sweden to find the artist, Lars Vilks, who has depicted the Prophet Mohammed.

LaRose, born in Michigan, moved to Texas as a girl and had married twice by age 24. Both unions were long over by the time she met Pennsylvanian Kurt Gorman in 2005. LaRose lived with Mr Gorman and his father in Pennsburg, caring for the older man while Mr Gorman worked, Mr Gorman said. He called her a “good-hearted person” who mostly stayed around the house.

But her internet ties grew to a loose band of allegedly violent co-conspirators from around the world, prosecutors said. They found her after she posted a YouTube video in June 2008 saying she was “desperate to do something somehow to help” ease the suffering of Muslims, the indictment said.

By September 30 2009, she wrote online that it would be “an honour & great pleasure to die or kill for” her intended spouse, the indictment said. “Only death will stop me here that I am so close to the target!” she is accused of writing. She was arrested the following month upon her return to the US

Sen. Bob Corker wants to make some real change and introduced a bill that will help tackle deficit. The Federal Government is receiving a lot less revenue then that it is spending and this bill could help make ends meet.

On Tuesday, Corker, R-Tenn., introduced a bill with U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., that would require Congress to cap all spending at a “declining level” of the country’s gross domestic product over the next decade.

The bill “forces us absolutely to prioritize, so there’s no question it will constrain us,” Corker said at a news conference unveiling the proposal.

“The toughest thing we have around here, though, is cutting existing programs because they all have constituencies, but there’s no question that this bill will force us to do it,” he said.

U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., and Georgia Republican Sens. Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson are also original co-sponsors of the legislation.

“What this bill forces us to do is to look at Social Security and Medicare for the long haul,” Corker added.

“This is a macro approach and if we take micro examples and try and apply them, all you are going to end up doing is creating animosity … toward looking at it in total,” Isakson said.

“This bill is all about causing waves. It’s all about helping Congress get the backbone to say ‘no,’” said McCaskill, the bill’s sole Democratic co-sponsor, who admitted that supporting the legislation could keep her from being re-elected in 2012.

“Despite their posture of making tough choices, these are ‘Look, Ma, no hands’ proposals,” Bob Greenstein, founder of the left-leaning Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, told The Associated Press. “But make no mistake about it—they would lead to enormous changes affecting nearly all Americans.”

DFW Airport has been completely shut down this Tuesday morning thanks to icy weather.

Its one of those days where an individual curses weather, i am sure today is already in that  list. Argh, its taking a toll out of me.

DFW Airport spokesman David Magana said the tracks are a layer of ice, but the teams are working to make them disappear. He said the center plans to reopen within a few hours.

Thanks to this ice storm schools have been closed along with mass electricity shortage in Texas.

DFW Airport is not alone in ice filled runways problem, we have other Airports that faces similar type of  situation.

Thousands of flight tickets have also been reportedly canceled. The authorities are informing the passengers who are already in the airport of the possible delay in take off.

Latest report coming from DFW Airport is that  “One of the runways has been cleared and is reopened while the crew is clearing out other runways”. That sounds great!
