If you are planning to have one kid in your family and are uninterested in larger family then this article might interest you.

A latest study has discovered that mothers with four or more children may have a reduced risk of heart disease. The study finds that the pregnancy hormones could protect blood vessels for years after giving birth and help reduce the risk of getting the disease.

Marieclaire reports Dr Bradley Van Voorhis, President of the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility as saying, ‘The physiological changes a woman experiences in pregnancy can have lasting effects on her health’.

‘A large, relatively healthy and affluent group of women showed a cardiovascular benefit from more than four pregnancies.’

The study, involving 1,300 women in California, suggested that mothers with larger families were almost 50 per cent less like to die of a stroke and one third less likely to suffer from cardiovascular disease.

AMR files for Bankruptcy!

Posted by Riz On November - 29 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

American Airlines and its parent company AMR Corp filed for bankruptcy on Tuesday after failing to win a labor deal with pilots and suffering from mounting fuel costs.

AMR had been the only major U.S. carrier to avoid bankruptcy in the past decade. Its rivals used bankruptcy to restructure their labor agreements and cut costs.

That left AMR, the third-largest U.S. airline behind United Continental Holdings Inc and Delta Air Lines Inc, with the highest labor costs in the industry and the only major airline still funding worker pensions.

“It completes the cycle,” said Helane Becker, an analyst with Dahlman Rose & Co. “Every major airline in the united States has filed for Chapter 11.”

AMR’s move comes as U.S. airlines brace for an economic downturn that could see travel demand sag this year. Some top airlines, including AMR, have announced service reductions to offset weak demand.

In its bankruptcy filing, AMR said its cost-cutting in recent years had been insufficient and that it could not continue without changing its “uncompetitive cost structure.”

“Without addressing the realities of the marketplace, AMR cannot be competitive with its peers,” it said.

Shares of AMR, whose passenger planes average 3,000 daily U.S. departures, have tumbled 45 percent since the end of September.

Last week the shares hit their lowest level since 2003, when AMR skirted bankruptcy by winning wage concessions from its unions.

The airline said last month it was also suffering from soaring fuel prices that sent its costs up 40 percent in the third quarter compared with a year earlier.

AMR on Tuesday named Thomas Horton as chairman and chief executive, replacing Gerard Arpey, who retired.

Under its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in a New York court, the company listed assets of $24.72 billion and liabilities of $29.55 billion. The company said it has $4.1 billion in cash.

AMR said both American Airlines and its regional carrier American Eagle were expected to fly normal schedules throughout the Chapter 11 process.

“We plan to initiate further negotiations with all of our unions to reduce our labor costs to competitive levels,” Horton said.

The union representing AMR’s pilots called the bankruptcy filing a “solemn occasion.”

“While today’s news was not entirely unexpected, it is nevertheless disappointing that we find ourselves working for an airline that has lost its way,” David Bates, president of the Allied Pilots Association, said in a statement.

“The 18-month timeline allotted for restructuring will almost certainly involve significant changes to the airline’s business plan and to our contract,” he said.

Dahlman’s Becker said the bankruptcy proceedings would not solve AMR’s problems and that the airline needed to rework its operations and boost revenue.

“Bankruptcy is not necessarily the be-all, end-all,” she said. “They’ve got more problems to address in addition to the cost problem.”

AMR’s top rivals, UAL Corp and Delta Air Lines, used bankruptcy protection to slash costs and have since found merger partners: Delta bought Northwest Airlines and UAL bought Continental Airlines to form United Continental Holdings.

US Airways and United Airlines sough relief under Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2002. Delta and Northwest filed in September 2005.

AMR has been in labor talks with its pilots for five years, and a wave of pilot retirements in October prompted speculation the airline was nearing a bankruptcy filing.

Some industry watchers believed the pilots chose to retire to lock in pension values that may now be in jeopardy as the company moves through bankruptcy court.

AMR said the bankruptcy has no direct legal impact on operations outside the United States. It also said it was not considering debtor-in-possession financing.

In addition to its passenger service, AMR carriers provide over 90 million pounds of weekly cargo lift around the globe.

AMR said Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP is lead counsel on the bankruptcy case.

The case is in Re: AMR Corp, Southern District Of New York; No:11-15463.

West Dont Mess with Us, Says Vladimir Putin

Posted by Riz On November - 28 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sternly warned the West not to interfere in Russia’s elections, as he launched his campaign to reclaim the presidency in a speech Sunday before thousands of flag-waving supporters.

Putin stepped down in 2008 after two presidential terms, but kept his hold on power. He announced in September that he intended to return to the top job next year and was formally nominated Sunday by his United Russia party.

“All our foreign partners need to understand this: Russia is a democratic country, it’s a reliable and predictable partner with which they can and must reach agreement, but on which they cannot impose anything from the outside,” Putin told his audience.

The party congress, which was televised live, was aimed at boosting support for Putin and his party before parliamentary elections one week away.

Indian Man marries bride with fire burns

Posted by Riz On November - 27 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

There may be a million marriages happening all over the world, but the marriage that took place between a Muslim man named Yunus Shaikh and her bride Taslim Shaik is worth to be called an heavenly marriage.

The marriage between the couple has proved to every soul in the world that a man’s  commitment is more important than any other promises.

Taslim Shaikh, a young resident of Vatva, was engaged to Yunus Shaikh and was to be married on Saturday. However, in a quirk of fate, she received severe burn injuries four days ago while she was cooking and had to be moved to L G Hospital.

Yunus, who remained firm in the marriage, said, “Come what may, I had decided that the nikaah would be solemnised on the appointed date and I resisted any move to stop it”.

The parents and relatives approached the L G Hospital authorities with a request to let them arrange for a simple nikaah. The authorities were reluctant in the beginning, but later relented and arranged for a separate room for the event.

Taslim’s mother was the happiest of all present. “I am feeling very lucky to have such a noble person as my son-in-law. He did not turn his back on my daughter, which he could do very easily and justifiably,” she said.

Yunus said by marrying Taslim, he had only fulfilled his promise he made to her out of his love for her. “So what if she has become a victim of circumstances.”

Yuvraj Singh has Lung tumor!!!

Yuvraj Singh is battling out a tumor in his left lung!

Indian Cricketer and the World Cup 2011 star performer, Yuvraj singh has been missing cricket matches for India some month now.  His recent drop from the Indian squad touring Australia was a definite shocker for all the Indian fans.

However, the real reason behind Yuvraj’s disappearance from the field since the World Cup 2011 has been made clear by his mother.

Yuvraj’s mother Shabnam said in a statement, “Reports and scans then showed us that Yuvraj was dealing with something really serious. A golf-ball size lump was found over his left lung and doctors advised us to go in for more detailed scans. The initial reports suggested that Yuvraj had what in medical terms, is called a abnormal tumour called lymphoma over his left lung. The danger was, we were told, that it could be malignant.

“When he returned from England… detailed scanning, and biopsy reports indicated that the tumour is non-malignant and non-threatening and can be treated through proper medication and therapy. In medical terms, Yuvraj is now in a much better state and on his way to a full recovery” , she added.

Shabnam further said Yuvraj did not want to rush his return to the side and that’s why he informed BCCI about his unavailablity for the West Indies series.

“Now his entire focus is to re-gain his full fitness. He is already preparing himself to play the One Day series in Australia. He doesn’t want to rush things, he wants to be hundred percent fit before resuming his cricket for India”.

Che, this is sad.  Lets hope that Yuvraj makes a speedy recovery and return back with good health.
