An Oklahoma Mother has braved her life to protect her 3 month baby from two intruders who tried to enter her home forcefully. The mother shot the intruders with the 911 dispatcher on phone with her.

“All i wanted is to protect my son”, says the young mother McKinley to ABC News. The conversation between the Mother and the 911 dispatcher seems chilling. The 911 dispatcher told the mother not to shot until the intruders break into her home.

The Conversation Moment with 911 dispatcher

Mother : I am here by Myself with my Infact baby.

Mother : Can i please get a dispatcher out here  immediately?

Dispatcher: Are your doors locked?

Mother :  Yes, i have got two guns in my hands. Is it okay to shoot him if he comes through this door?

Dispatcher: I cant tell you that you can do that but you do what you have to do to protect your baby.

The Mother has done the right thing according to the local police who says the act falls under the right to self defense. As per law, it is allowed for an American citizen to use a deadly weapon for self defense in life threatening situations.

I still get goosebumps on the presence of mind shown by McKinley. The moment she noticed the burglars she took her son away from the room and gave him a bottle of milk to make him stop crying.

Man, this is really an act of bravery. What emotions would have been flowing through her mind at that very moment.

Australian Captain Michael Clarke made a brilliant triple hundred against India in the on going test match against India thereby joining the list of cricket most valued legends to score a triple hundred.

Scoring a Triple Hundred in test matches is never easy at all! No matter against which opposition you play Triple Hundred counts.

Congrats Clarke this is an exceptional show of brilliance :)

Australian team were considered out of form and cricketing legends expected Indian team to walk over with historic win in Australian soil.

But the youngster James Pattinson and the roaring legend Ricky Pointing gave India run for the money.

Michael Clarke is currently the 25th Batsman in Cricketing History to score triple hundred in test matches.

Iran vs. US, What is Going On ?

Posted by Tommy On January - 3 - 2012ADD COMMENTS

Looks like Iran’s threat to attack US’s Navy has worked. Well, we can’t really put a finger on it because US’s response to Iran’s threat seems vague.

Here is the story, Iran is conducting military Navy drill in the Persian Gulf and has said that US has moved one it’s aircraft carrier to the Sea of Oman. Iran on noticing this issued a warning on not to return again and if they do they will attack.

The Warning/Threat:

Army chief Ataollah Salehi said the United States had moved an aircraft carrier out of the Gulf because of Iran’s naval exercises, and Iran would take action if the ship returned.

“Iran will not repeat its warning…the enemy’s carrier has been moved to the Sea of Oman because of our drill. I recommend and emphasize to the American carrier not to return to the Persian Gulf, I advise, recommend and warn them over the return of this carrier to the Persian Gulf because we are not in the habit of warning more than once.” he said.

The Response:

Pentagon’s reply, doesn’t really makes any sense. Looks like they are just brushing off the warning.

“The deployment of U.S. military assets in the Persian Gulf region will continue as it has for decades,” Pentagon Press Secretary George Little said in a statement sent to Yahoo News Tuesday. “These are regularly scheduled movements in accordance with our longstanding commitments to the security and stability of the region and in support of ongoing operations.”

“The U.S. Navy operates under international maritime conventions to maintain a constant state of high vigilance in order to ensure the continued, safe flow of maritime traffic in waterways critical to global commerce,” Little’s statement continued. “We are committed to protecting maritime freedoms that are the basis for global prosperity; this is one of the main reasons our military forces operate in the region.”

Iran does seems to be on hot waters because of all the sanction being imposed on it. The latest sanctions that have been authorized by President Obama over the weekend seems to be doing more damage to Iran’s economy as these were sanctions against Iran’s Central Bank.

Well, As Newton stated, if you hit someone, its bound that they reply it back. I reckon, US knew what they were doing and were anticipating a perfect reason to war on Iran.

India to Open Stock Market to Foreigners

India wants foreigners to directly invest in it’s stock market. Till now foreigners could not make any direct investment in the stock market but they will be able to invest through Mutual Funds.

So, why this sudden move especially after the uproar in the country over Foreign Direct Investment in the retail sector. They got their reasons, they want to give some stability to their messed up market.

The announcement late Sunday follows a year of large losses on the Sensex, India’s benchmark index. The new regulations will come into effect Jan. 15.

A government statement said the change is intended to help combat market volatility and increase the flow of foreign funds into the country.

India’s benchmark Sensex index fell more than 22 percent in 2011, making it one of the worst performing in the region. The rupee also lost about 14 percent this year and recently hit a lifetime low, breaching 54 rupees to the dollar.

This is the weakest the rupee has been since it was allowed to float against the dollar in the early 1990s.

After several years of 8 percent growth, the Indian economy has slowed down. The Ministry of Finance last month trimmed its growth projection for the fiscal year through March to around 7.5 percent, down from an earlier forecast of 9 percent.

Growth in the September quarter slipped to a two-year low of 6.9 percent and industrial production fell 5.1 percent in October, its first contraction since June 2009.

Sony Tablet S Prices Slashed by $100!

A little too late. Right after the new year celebrations Sony wanted to start it’s year by slashing the price of Tablet S by $100. If it has done this earlier it would have definitely benefited the  holiday shoppers.

Sony is knocking $100 off the price of its Tablet S, as you can see in the company’s online store, with prices now falling at $399 for the 16 GB model and $499 for the 32 GB. The Android-powered tablets launched in September, but the holidays are now behind us and Sony is probably looking to make its new tech a little more attractive to shoppers in the new year.

Note that the price drop is also in effect at Newegg.com. The online electronics retailer was originally running a New Year’s Day promotion that bundled a 16 GB Tablet S with 1TB GoFlex hard drive for $449.99. The price for that same bundle now sits at $399.99.

The Tablet S sports a 9.4-inch screen and runs on Honeycomb. It’s packing a Tegra 2 CPU and 1GB of memory, plus a 5.0 MP rear camera and a 0.3 MP in the front. Not a bad tablet to have according to reviews so far, but early adopters have got to be a little rankled over such a quick turnaround on the price. Then again, Sony dropped the price ‘temporarily’ by $50 in mid-December. Maybe there aren’t enough early adopters out there to begin with.

Twitter servers have been crashed today thanks to the overloading new year eve messages from its users therby displaying a message “Twitter is over capacity”.

Twitter, a well known world wide social networking site, was out of service for almost an hour today. The site crashed around 3 p.m. Saturday. It coincided with midnight celebrations in Japan when revellers were sending a record 16,197 tweets per second, the Daily Mail reported Sunday.

The site returned to working order but then stopped on several other occasions, prompting speculation that it was being hit by the arrival of New Year in different parts of the world.

Up to 250,000 people poured into Central London, some in Trafalgar Square and others watching the pyrotechnics centred on the London Eye, the Mail said.

I reckon, Twitter has some work to do for bigger occasions.
