Apple has decided to get into the Chinese market by starting a new Apple store in Shanghai. Apple had its presence in china for over 2 years, but finally it decided to enter the Chinese market.
Apple gave a preview of its new retail store to reporters on Thursday. The large outlet in Shanghai is set to be open to the public from Saturday. This is the first store of the 25 stores that Apple has planned on opening in China. But they do not want to reveal their other locations yet.
This store has got something from Fifth Avenue store in New York. Yes, its the same 40-foot Box with Apple Logo inside it.
Apple is giving free t-shirts to the first 5000 visitors that walk into its store on Saturday. Looks like they want to make the store a hit on the very first day. But for some reason they didn’t reveal how much visitors they are expecting on the opening day. Apple with all its mysteries, sheeez.
Apple has only one store in China, its in Beijing. It was opened in 2008.
Though Apple is not going to launch iPhone 4G and iPad in china yet. Its just hoping its new line of stores will hope boost its iPhone 3gs phones.
Analyst Richard Doherty of market research firm Envisioneering Group said the move into the Chinese market is a good one. “China is the largest PC market in the world,” Doherty said.
