Why did Edge quit WWE?

Posted by Shane On April - 16 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

WWE’s Iconic wrestler Edge retires from Wrestling.

As i predicted before Wrestlemania 27, Edge announced his retirement on Monday night Raw aired on April 11.

Edge who is known as the Rated R superstar, joined WWE in 1997 where he accomplished many titles defeating the then greats to become WWE champion. His latest title was in Wrestlemania 27 where he successfully defended his title against Alberto Del Rio.

Why did Edge retire from WWE?

Let us look deep into the fact  on why did he retire.

According to WWE.com, Copeland (Edge)  has been suffering from Neuropraxia, a spinal condition which caused numbness and trembling in the arms. He suffered a neck injury and underwent spinal surgery in 2003.

The website also states: “Medical professionals cannot clear Edge to compete ever again in WWE, since doing so could result in paralysis or even death.”

The revelation caught most fans and wrestling insiders completely unawared and is thought to be legitimate and not part of a storyline.

WWE advertised Edge making a big announcement several times during Raw, even hinting at the fact it might be to announce retirement.

In an odd insight into how wrestling psyches worked, most assumed this would be a swerve. Sadly, it was not the case.

On Raw, Copeland addressed the live crowd, coming close to tears as they chanted “Thank you Edge”. The cameras then caught up with him backstage as his colleagues broke kayfabe to form a guard on honour for him.

Well, another Legend has retired. Its sad for WWE who has already lost so many fans thanks to the retirement of Shawn Michaels.

Sin Cara has made the most expected WWE debut, the night after Wrestlemania 27.  Sin Cara, who is a Mexican wrestler, signed up with WWE on Feb,2011.

We, earlier, reported on Sin Cara statements on becoming a WWE roaster.

How did Sin Cara made his debut?

Sin Cara, made a thunderous debut on Monday night Raw, aired on April 04,2011.  We saw United States Champion Sheamus destroying Daniel Bryan. When it looked like Mr.Bryan is done at the hands of Sheamus, there arised the masked figure who come forward to the ring to assist Daniel Bryan.

Upon seeing the masked figure, WWE fans erupted with roar and cheers as they knew who it was.

Way to go, Sin Cara!!! Welcome to a new journey.

The Rock got Mad at me, tweets John Cena

Posted by Shane On March - 3 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Last Monday, the WWE Raw went very serious as the people champion “The Rock” seemed very angry on the way  John Cena responded to him.

Rock questioned Cena’s way of reply stating,” The Rock addressed you like a man, but you (Cena) reply with a rap?”

Rock repeated the following line three times, “You replied to ‘The Rock’ with the rap”. The Rock sure locked very serious at the promo.

However, John Cena has responded today in this twitter account, Cena says

CeNation. Now in dallas. Seeing that a lot of people want me to respond to what rock said on mon. Im not sure. He got mad last time I did:)

The Rock will address Cena face to face, these were the words from Dwayne Johnson (a/k/a The Rock).

Cena’s twitter comments looks he is bit hesitant to respond back to the Rock.

Do you think Cena is afraid of the Rock and his millions and millions of Rock fans?

Lets wait and watch, how the following WWE Raw episodes unfolds.

The Miz twitter comments hint of a new Movie role

Posted by Shane On February - 28 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Well, what do you know! we now have “The Awesome” WWE champion The Miz in a new movie role.

IMDB.com lists WWE performers Mike Mizanin (a/k/a The Miz) and Layla El (a/k/a Layla) as cast members of the upcoming movie Stainless Steel (2012).

The synopsis of the film reads: “Former underground out-law, John Steel is hired from the CIA to bring down 4 members of a silent corrupt group within the FBI.”

I think, The Miz is going to hit a jackpot with the WWE. finally WWE has motivated and recognized a  superstar other than John Cena and Triple H.

I still feel, have they shown the same sort of compassion with Batista, he might have not left WWE!

WWE superstar Chris Jericho has not renewed his contract so far.  For days, it was rumored that Chris Jericho may not renew the contract and may leave WWE.

Sadly, the retirement for Chris  is on the corner. The master  of code breaker who is currently 40 years old has contributed every thing to the WWE but still is not regarded or respected well by WWE script writers to make him a WWE champion.

Chris Jericho has now stated “if i dont win the Championship belt in Night of Champions i am quitting”.

We can interpret from the above quote as ” I am fed up with you WWE, i am not renewing my contract and i am leaving you!”

Sounds sad!

whenever i see Chris Jericho fight , i assume that the fight is real because he makes it so. I enjoyed your brilliance Chris.

Apart from any other wrestler like John Cena, Sheamus, Edge, the best thing Chris Jericho brings is to the ring will also be the way which he handles the script. He never shows like he is playing the script. He makes it so good.

Speaking on Facts

One could easily predict Chris Jericho’s retirement. The Wrestling industry has became a joke. No real fights. All fights are nothing like a small kid  facing each other for 5 min and then the match gets disqualified.

Chris does the Batista way and soon Edge is to follow.  I have heard weird things on Edge. Edge also believes he is left with less than a year  in WWE.

Whatever it is, I am proud to quote “You are indeed the best in the world at what you do Chris”

UFC 117 Post-fight Press Conference Video

The video of  UFC 117 Post-fight Press Conference  can be seen by clicking here

Thanks to fightgameblog.com, Here are the highlights from the post-fight press conference:

(The press conference started without Chael Sonnen and Anderson Silva, but they came in midway.)

- The bonuses: KO of the night went to Stefan Struve, fight of the night went to Silva/Sonnen, and both Anderson Silva and Matt Hughes won submission bonuses. The bonuses were $60,000.

- Dana said people want the rematch, but Vitor (Belfort) is also waiting. He’s not sure what they’re going to do. He says what happened tonight is the stuff that makes legends.

- Dana on Sonnen – “He put himself on the map last week by saying some crazy shit.” But he also backed it up in the octagon.

- Matt Hughes said he usually starts slow and he caught him with a submission that he (Almeida) might not have seen before. He’ll come back early next year to talk with the UFC and figure out what they’re going to do.

- Jon Fitch said that he was surprised that Alves accepted the docked purse and didn’t cut try to cut the weight. He’ll accept it as an early wedding gift.

- Dana said fact of the matter is that Alves didn’t make weight and everyone else did. This was in response to Fitch saying he was really close.

- Fitch knew exactly what Alves was trying to do and it made it a lot easier. He wanted to stand up and get to his feet at every opportunity.

- Fitch said he’s not thinking of Koscheck. He’s just thinking about his wedding.

- JDS said the fight lasted all three rounds because Roy Nelson kept his hands up all three rounds. JDS said he’s ready for the champion.

- Dana said Alves needs to fight at 185.

- Dana said Matt Hughes is not in the twilight of his career and is always a threat. He said that Matt won’t ever turn a fight down and is always ready.

- Dana’s not sure what happens with Fitch after saying just the other day that it was a number one contender’s fight. He said, but what you don’t hear is Fitch saying he’s not going to fight Koscheck. He’s just not saying he will yet.

- Clay said he’s a 155′er in a 145′ers body.

- JDS said he’s really starting to pick up and enjoy wrestling like he did with boxing.

- Chael is devastated. He didn’t get his hand raised. He’ll live with it, but he’s devastated.

- Someone spoke to Anderson Silva in Portuguese and Silva answered in Portuguese. No one translated in English. Dana asked Chael to decipher. Chael said that Silva wants to fight a rematch and do the reality show and they’ll do big ratings. Everyone laughed.

- A Chael quote: “Fighting Anderson Silva is like eating Chinese food. Twenty minutes after I do it, I’m gonna want to do it again.”

- Sonnen said he wouldn’t do anything differently and he’s not the type of guy to issue apologies. He said his heart was broken. It hurts really bad. He’s a good fighter and he found a way to win. That’s what champions do.

- Sonnen said when he talks, it’s like a bomb going off and everyone around will get dirty. He said that everyone else should apologize except for him because if you get a mic in your face and say anything except that you want to champion, you should get a pink slip from Joe Silva. He said that if he has to go to 205 and do it, he will, or he’ll go on a diet and go after Jose Aldo. That’s just who he is.

- Silva said he wanted to finish this fight by submission as a sign of respect to Big Nog. He said that two weeks ago he injured his rib and the doctor didn’t want him to fight, but he did.

- Silva said he didn’t underestimate Chael, but the way he promoted the fight was a bit weird. But it’s all good now that it’s over. He still has work to do to help his guys out for their fights like Fajao and the Nog brothers, then he’ll go home and spend time with his family before thinking about anything else.

- Chael said he will think about this when he goes to bed at night. He doesn’t second guess staying busy because he had to control the position. “It’s a fist fight in Oakland, CA in the middle of a cage.”

- Dana said Chael talked a lot of smack and backed every bit of it up.

- Anderson Silva said that he didn’t have anything against Chael. This is a sport. What happens inside the ring is in the fight. What ever is outside is in the past. He respects Chael and all of his opponents. The UFC is like a family. They should go outside and fight other organizations to show they are the best. Sometimes they have to fight their family.

- Chael said he doesn’t hold anything against Anderson, but the truth is, if the commission allowed it and Dana moved out of the way, he’d fight him again right now.

- Chael said that Anderson won tonight, he was the better guy.

George Steinbrenner passes away

Posted by Shane On July - 13 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

George Steinbrenner has died.

“It is with profound sadness that the family of George M. Steinbrenner III announces his passing,” the family said in a statement released this morning. “He passed away this morning in Tampa, Fla., at age 80. He was an incredible and charitable man. First and foremost he was devoted to his entire family – his beloved wife, Joan; his sisters, Susan Norpell and Judy Kamm, his children, Hank, Jennifer Jessica and Hal; and all of his grandchildren. He was a visionary and a giant in the world of sports. He took a great but struggling franchise and turned it into a champion again.”

Steinbrenner turned 80 years old on July 4 and as recently as Friday he was at the Yankees minor league complex in Florida where he told an Associated Press reporter he was “feeling good.”

The family has said funeral arrangements will be private, but there will be an additional public service with details to be announced at a later date.
