The teams that would play the Semi finals in the ICC World cup 2011 has been decided thanks to the thrashing win by Sri Lanka against England in the final quarter finals at Colombo.

Teams Qualified

India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and New Zealand will play the Semi finals.

Face off

Sri Lanka will face off against New Zealand in the first semi final  this Tuesday, that is  March 29, 2011

India will compete against Pakistan in the second semi final coming Wednesday, that is March 30, 2011

The winner of the semi finals will face off against each other in the finals at Mumbai on April 2,2011

With the final match of the group stage between India and West indies held on March 20, 2011 concluding with India winning against the west indies, we now know the 8 teams that would compete in the quarter finals stage in the ICC World cup 2011.

The teams qualified from Group A as per the leading the table are

1) Pakistan        2) Sri Lanka

3) Australia      4) New Zealand

The teams qualified from Group B as per the leading the table are

1) South Africa           2) India

3) England                  4) West Indies

Thats cool! But, which team will actually compete with the other team in the quarter finals??? Any Clues??

Ireland defeated England in the group state match of the ICC World Cup 2011 held today in chinnaswamy stadium, Bangalore, India.

Ireland has scripted history by successfully chasing down 328 runs thereby becoming the first nation to make such run chase.

Boy, i dont know where to start. I am thrilled to the core.

Kevin O’Brien and Alex Cusack are the deserving candidate to be praised. Both the cricketers have scripted their names in the history of Cricket.

Kevin O’Brien became the first man to score a fastest hundred in the world cup history. He scored 100 for just 50 balls. Holy cow! Thats just brilliant.

Exciting isnt it!

The match started with England elected to bat. The England batsman didn’t disappoint as they whack the ball all over the ground. Trott, Pietersen and Ian Bell scored a marvelous half centuries taking the England  score to 327 for 50 overs.

In reply, the Irish started the innings very badly as they score very slowly and wickets going down regularly in the other end. At one stage, Ireland were 111 for 5 in  24.2 overs.

When everything seemed lost, there came a hope for Ireland with the coming of Kevin O’Brien and Alex Cusack. Man, they batted superbly. Hats off gentleman.

Kevin O’Brien scored fastest century in the world cup history taking out Matthew Hayden of Australia. He scored  100 runs of 50 balls. Alex on the other end played a sensible 47 runs  before getting run out.

The match then became very interesting as the new batsman John Mooney played a sensible innings along with Kevin O’Brien.

When all seemed set for Ireland, Kevin got run out when the Irish score was 317 for 7. In the end though, the day belonged to Ireland as they scripted history today.

The above photo was published in the England’s Daily Mail newspaper. So it seems pretty obvious that our President does dye his hair. So what the big deal ? I don’t know.

Obama dying his hair black is really getting a lot of attention in the web. But does it really deserve it ? 100′s of people do it everyday. But why does it matter if the President did it ?

A man from England refuses to cut down his tree just because the tree can be seen in Google Earth Satellite view.

Sounds funny right

But not so funny for the  nearby residents who claim that tree’s root is spoiling the region.

The locals seem concerned by the response shown by the man,Mr Alvand, who is not agreeing to chop down the tree.

One resident, who did not want to be named, said he had begun mediation over the trees in July 2000, without success.

“The wall took 15-16 years to sort out,” he said. “It’s been a nightmare. Now the trees are an eyesore – they block out sunlight and make the street look bad.”

Another neighbour added: “I think they’re monstrous. They’ve gone higher than the roof of our houses now. They look horrendous.”

Mr Alvand rejected the claims, saying he was victimised over two decades for the state of his gardens. He declined to comment further.

Plymouth City Council said it was trying to mediate the situation.

This will seem to be little older movie to make review of. But i would certainly acknowledge to viewers , those who didnt see this movie yet, its worth to watch it.

After seeing this movie a month back in DVD, i went mad on myself on how could i miss such a beautiful movie as this.

About the movie

The Others(2001) movie has Nicole Kidman in the lead role. I must confess i watched this movie only for Nicole Kidman but couldnt resist the perfection of the script that revealed upon.

The movie starts with a Mother and her 2 children. The Movie dates itself around 1940′s, a time of Nazi scare among England.

Speaking on the movie, the mother (Grace Stewart) and her children (Anne Stewart and Nicholas Stewart) are living in a huge home which is always covered with curtains due to the fact that the children had some kind of weird skin disease that would kill them if they were exposed to sunlight.

The Father is out for war to serve his duty for the nation.

The movie continuous with the incoming of 3 new members who were supposed to be seeking a job as a house keeper. Grace stewart allows them to stay and work for the home.

As days passes by, Grace Stewart becomes aware of an alien presence in the home which they often refer to as “The intruders”.

Boy, the movie goes so well with the acting. The children were absolute amazing in their performance.

At the end of the movie, the mother and the children discovers the fact that the Intruders are humans and they themselves are dead souls living in the home.

Isn’t that a beauty. The film began’s with the series of incidents that tells the viewers on a possibility of ghost present in the building only to conclude in the end that the mother and the 2 children were the ghost.

I enjoyed it.

I rate the movie  9.5 out of 10.

A must watch movie

US Open Golf 2010

The US Open 2010 coming this year from Pebble Beach, California, starts tomorrow Thursday June 17 through Sunday June 20. It’s the first time the course has been chosen for the US Open since 2000 and in that wait the course has been lengthened, there are new greens and other changes.

The battle between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson is set to be a tough one, but others cannot be ruled out, such as England’s Lee Westwood. If Mickelson wins the tournament he’ll become the number one ranked golfer, taking the honour off Tiger Woods for the first time since 2005.
