Twilight tops box office!

Vampires and werewolves ruled at the box office this Fourth of July weekend, with Summit Entertainment’s third installment of “The Twilight Saga” taking in $161.7 million since opening Wednesday.

That’s one of the biggest five-day debuts in Hollywood history, previously surpassed by just a handful of films including “The Dark Knight” and last summer’s sequel to “Transformers.”

After Monday, “Eclipse” is expected to gross around $181 million for the six-day holiday total.

The teen vampire franchise has pulled in major profits for its studio, Summit. A small independent studio in Hollywood, Summit spent just $68 million making “Eclipse,” far less than what many rival studios spend on summer blockbusters, which can cost as much as $150 million or $200 million.

“Eclipse” also helped boost the summer box office, which has trailed behind last year’s record-shattering revenue after a series of movies opened tepidly or flopped at the box office. Still, even with “Eclipse’s” performance, attendance continues to be down nearly 7% compared with last summer and revenue stands slightly lower, too.

Paramount Pictures’ “The Last Airbender,” a 3-D live-action adaptation based on a popular Nickelodeon cartoon, took the second spot at the box office this weekend, grossing $53.2 million since opening Thursday.

That figure stands in line with expectations after the film received poor reviews, but the movie has a long way to go before Paramount can recoup the roughly $150 million it spent on the movie, which the studio also paid to convert into 3-D earlier this year.

The film is, however, estimated to take in more than $70 million after Monday, significantly upping its total.

Avast Disney has announced that  ” A new film of   Pirates of the Caribbean will be released on 2011″. This new  release of the Disney has caused a volcanic buzz among the fans that were gathered around.

Boy, i thought the pirates series is finished after the last movie “Pirates of the caribbean: At world’s  end”

We can once again see Johnny Deep as  Capt. Jack Sparrow in the upcoming pirates titled “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”.No word yet on whether all the crew that acted the first three pirate series will be present in the latest film or not.

Meanwhile  Johnny Depp  did a play for the fans  gathered there. He wore himself with capt. Jack Sparrow dress and acted for few lines

” Arrrrgh, where is the rum”

In his presentation of upcoming Disney films, Cook also announced that Depp would play Tonto in an upcoming big-screen adaptation of “The Lone Ranger.”

Madonna daughter Lourdes to be a Harry potter star

This cant be true, Pop queen Madonna’s daughter to be seen in next film. According to samaylive.comLourdes was supposed to be seen in earlier films of potter but it didnt happen. No reason specified.

It will be really interesting to see whether she turns out in a potter film. Ever imagine, what role she be given???

Lourdes aspires to become a film actress. Though she would soon be seen in one of the new video at which Madonna is working out these days.

If she gets the oppurtunity how will it look like, will she be able to meet up the potter film challenge. That is watch by billions across the world.

Vijay new Movie Vettaikaran

The Vijay starrer Vettaikaran was being shot in the AVM Studios and an expensive set, costing around Rs. 3 crores, was erected for the purpose.

A few scenes were shot at the sets but the unit was in for a rude shock this morning when they came to know that the sets were badly damaged in a fire accident.

With this, the shooting of Vettaikaran has suffered a set back apart from the huge losses incurred by the team.

Produced by AVM Productions, the film is directed by Babu Sivan. Anushka pairs up with Vijay in this film.

Brad Pitt  grows fatherly figure  saying  ” i m a father of 6  and my party ends at 6pm”.  He sure  is serious.  Brad Pitt commonly known for  his wild ways added,  my ways have been changed or as far at this respectable hour.

“Listen, I’m a dad now and my partying ends at 6 PM,” the actor told reporters at the Berlin premiere of “Inglourious Basterds” Tuesday night.

The actor also joked with reporters about his daunting career in front of the camera.

“It’s so hard being an actor,” Brad said with a laugh. “I sometimes don’t get coffee, or they bring you coffee and it’s cold and sometimes you don’t have a chair to sit on…It’s really hard.”

Despite his tough job as one of the world’s most famous actors, Brad said filming the new Quentin Tarantino movie, due in theaters on Aug. 21, was a delight.

“It was a great bunch of guys and girls, a really great cast,” he added. “And everyone got to speak in their own language, their native tongue, it was a pleasure.”

Personal Thoughts:

I went to the theater with much excitement and so was all the fans with me. I just cant express  how fans shouted with thrill at the start of the movie. It was like a dream come true to see the good script as the movie. But this film is not as expected.

If your an Harry potter fan you will be stunned  by the irrelevant scenes that appears after an another. And if your a new guy who came to see the movie you will find very hard to understand the concept of the film itself.I never thought i will write the following  comment on the film.

This film is again a failure as Order of Phoenix. As an Harry potter fan, i am very much disappointed with David Yates. Its just outrageous to know another Best Script ever is failed by the crew.

I don’t think its only me but the film goes very dull. The only best part of the movie is  Ron’s quidditch comedy. Man  i enjoyed the romantic scene between Ron and hermione and also Harry with Ginny 

Other than this, nothing count’s. I dont know what happened to Daniel!!! He didnt expressed his act well. During Dumbledore death scene he just acted like he was forced to act 

Many scenes were missing, i said earlier that the two consecutive scene’s were irrevelant. The scene where Harry tells ron and hermione about Horcrux  is not there, and so was the good bye scene before harry goes to the cave. It was also missing. But at the climax, Ron and hermione speak as though they know about horcrux!!!! I just recalled one scene. many scene’s in between were missing or irrevelant.

Michael Gambon and Tom Felton ( Draco Malfoy)  has really made Justice to their role. Their act was very much superb. Particularly Tom Felton, he played his role very well.

Finally i conclude saying ,Personally i cried after seeing this movie. Not upto my expectations.

Well, what do you know, Jake Gyllenhaal who is a prolong film industry kid doesnt like the center of attraction tag. Jake Gyllenhaal, an American Actor made himself a mark by starting his acting career as a Kid with continuous good films.He is now aged 28 years.

Jake Gyllenhaal was trying to come out from Hollywood bowl at  Los Angeles , while he got spotted by a press member. During an attempt to photograph him, he just shows sign of  ” frustration” with a strange, questioning Hot look.

Hey , your a celebrity man, you need to know this and handle press instead of  expressing looks.
