Iconic Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who on Sunday became the only cricketer in history to have scored 50 Test tons, emerged runaway winner over Don Bradman in a poll commissioned by an Australian newspaper on who is the best batsman of all time.
In an online poll conducted by the ”Sydney Morning Herald” asking readers to vote for ”The greatest batsman ever: Bradman or Tendulkar?”,Tendulkar secured 67 per cent of the votes as against Bradman”s 33 per cent. 20768 cricket fans voted.
Tendulkar seemed to have got votes from those who took into account that he played in three formats of the game and against 10 countries while Bradman played in only Test matches and primarily in Australia and England only.
“Tendulkar is better than Bradman. Tendulkar has played three forms of the game to Bradman”s one. Tendulkar has played around in many different pitches, against a variety of bowlers, and is the highest run getter in Tests and one dayers. Undisputedly, the BEST EVER,” one comment said.
“Bradman scored a total of 7000 runs of which 5000 plus were against one country. He played only against four countries in an era where not many matches were played in a year. He did not face too many world class bowlers, with the fastest being Larwood who bowled supposedly at 95 mph,” another post said.
“I am Australian. I love Don Bradman …. But my unbias thought is Sachin is Greater. Sachin has more than 30,000 Runs. He is playing in an era where every ball is analyzed and taken note of. Yet 12 nations have not found the way to stop this man.
“When Bradman played cricket .. . it was not analyzed as we do it today. Bradman only played Test and that to only in ENG and AUS. This 30,000 runs, 50 Test hundreds, 45 ODI hundreds, 200 runs in ODI stands out for Sachin and that”s why he is greater,” another fan said.
Those who consider Bradman better than Tendulkar felt the Australian legend played on uncovered pitches at a time when there was no helmet and yet he had a near hundred average.
“Bradman – no helmet, uncovered pitches, higher average, no advantage of a modern bat, more centuries per innings – enough said really. Tendulkar is the best in the modern game, but Bradman is hands down the greatest,” one cricket fan commented.
“No brainer in my view, but no doubt that both were legends of their era. There are two many variables to make an accurate comparison across eras. Conditions, equipment, frequency of matches, quality of opposition. 99.94 is the stand out for me,” another comment said.
But some felt the comparison was futile as the two legends played in different eras.
“Sounds foolish to compare players from two different eras. Numbers don”t count much when the conditions are so different. Same debate has been on comparing Pele and Maradona,” a comment said.
The Vince Young meltdown happened after the Tennessee Titans lost to the Washington Redskins with an overtime loss of 19-16 this past Sunday. Vince Young, starting Quarterback of the Titans, injured his right thumb (his throwing hand), but his meltdown started before the injury occurred.
Young was reacting to the crowd’s booing, and the Titans’ coach, Jeff Fisher, didn’t respond well to this. Young was waving back to the crowd in a sarcastic fashion. After injuring his thumb, Coach Fisher took Young out of the game because he saw his hand was injured, but Young threw a tantrum and left the field.
According to freep.com, Coach Fisher said, “He threw half his uniform in the stands. I think clearly that is no way to respond, and so we have some things that we have to sort out with him.”
Sfgate.com reports, Coach Fisher said, “I am very disappointed. I think his teammates are disappointed. You know, there is going to be frustration in losses. There is going to be, you know, there are times when you have to dig deep and fight and turn to one another. I don’t think you run and so I am disappointed.’’
Fisher says Vince Young will not be the Titans’ starting Quarterback even if his thumb doesn’t need surgery. Fisher appointed Rusty Smith as the starting Quarterback.
Our take:
The Titans have lost three straight games in a row and hopefully with Rusty Smith taking over as starting Quarterback, they can start winning some games. Vince Young didn’t handle himself in a proud manner at all. He was acting like a child by leaving his team and storming off the field. It’s no way for a professional player to behave, let alone the leader of the team, the Quarterback. Hopefully Young gets his act together before the season’s end.
WWE confirmed on Friday that Triple H will return for “one night only” at the Supershow and Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, Oct. 30 at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut.
This decision is really cool but not surprising. I think WWE is trying to push Triple H to next high level as they pushed Shawn Michaels.

We were told that Shawn Michaels will return back to Summerslam for Only One Night event. But what happened, he continued for WWE for nearly 8 more years till 2010 before he retired.
I think this is a well made script of WWE trying to push Triple H for one night event.
My predictions:
Triple H will return with fan favoring him and cheering him up. Sheamus will interrupt him and say he finished Triple H career. Triple H will tell him ” I am the Game and I make the rules” and will challenge Sheamus at Bragging rights.And will defeat him.
As far as i know WWE, they will come up with something like this.

Google has launched its very own short-URL service to the public, Goo.gl.
With the world being taken over by Twitter along with its 140-characters limit, the demand for short-URL service has been increasing. As you cannot really share a long URL without the help of these services.

The most popular service so far is Bit.ly. They sure have to brace themselves for the competition from the Big G himself.
Goo.gl interface seems very similar to Bit.ly including its statistics. But of course without the fancy design of Bit.ly as being simply and to the point is what Google always does.
Since this game is all about number of characters. The lower the better.
Bit.ly and Goo.gl are initially equal. They both are 6-characters in length. But in looking smaller Bit.ly wins!
