Hackers infiltrate Nasdaq!

Posted by Tommy On February - 6 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Hackers have broken into a Nasdaq service that handles confidential communications for some 300 corporations. The company said, exposing another vulnerability in the computer systems that Wall Street runs on.

The infiltration of Hackers did not affect the trading systems of Nasdaq and no customer data were hacked.

It did not cause any unwanted panic in the Nasdaq trades.

A federal official told AP that the hackers broke into the service repeatedly over more then a year. Investigators are trying to identify the hackers, the official said. The motive of the hackers is not known. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because the inquiry by the FBI and Secret Service is continuing.

In 1999, hackers infiltrated the Web sites of Nasdaq and the American Stock Exchange, leaving taunting messages, but Nasdaq officials said then that there was no evidence the break-ins affected financial data.

Kama Sutra virus dupes with sexy promise

Computer security firm Sophos has warned that hackers are spreading a nasty computer virus with a file promising a PowerPoint presentation of sexual positions from the Kama Sutra.

“Be careful what you do with that mouse,” Graham Cluley of Sophos said in an online post.

“When you click on the file you do get to see a real PowerPoint presentation, but in the background a backdoor Trojan called Troj/Bckdr-RFM is installed which allows hackers to gain remote access to your computer.”

Once a computer is infected with the malicious software, the hacker can steal personal information and spy on users’ activities or use the machine for nefarious deeds such as sending spam or attacking websites.

In scant consolation, the booby-trapped file did present slides of more than a half dozen lovemaking techniques illustrated from the ancient Indian text, Mr Cluley said.

Bank of America Website Down!

Bank Of America Website inaccessible!

Bank Of America Website inaccessible!

Bank of America’s website has been down most of the morning and there’s no sign of any progress towards restoring the site.

The bank is responding to users about the problem on Twitter via @BofA_Help. The website hasn’t been responding for about 6 hours for some users. A BofA spokeswoman has said the problems began for the bank’s website at 4 a.m. PST.

BofA says there is no timetable yet for when the website would be back to normal. It also notes that the problems were not because of malware and customer information was not compromised.

Twitter has been buzzing about the BofA website failure. At least one Twitter user speculates about the possibility of the website being hacked by WikiLeaks’ advocates “Anonymous.”

@DylanWest: Wondering if Bank of America is getting DOS attacks from pro Wikileaks hackers “Anonymous” again? Whatever it is… needs to end. Now. #bofa

Last year eBay’s, PayPal and Mastercard were faced with down websites after being targeted by groups supporting WikiLeaks.

About 4 hours ago, @BofA_Help began addressing the load of complaints. The responses from  have been pretty standard so far. Most are along the lines of: “We are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it as fast as possible. Please accept our apologies” and “Online Banking Outage: Bank of America is working to restore capability as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

That’s not stopping the stream of complaints from Twitter users. It’s payday for a lot of folks (well, those lucky enough to be employed these days) and many are probably trying to pay their bills online and check balances.

But while Bank of America’s website is suffering its stock is not. Shares are up over 2% today at $15.12, and up more than 6% this week. The bank will report fourth quarter earnings next Friday, January 21.

Update : The website is now responding but its quite slow….. it seems to be going on and off.

Is this your question? Tried of your system often getting infected with virus .I will update you on this issue to the best of my knowledge on how the virus infection really works.

Do you think your system is being attacked by virus because of Hackers?  Then you are wrong.

If you think hackers attack your system for Fun? Then you are wrong.

Then what is it?

A wise man told me, “If you are writing a code as 1, only you will know how to make it 0”.

Get it?

Couldn’t get the meaning, ok I will give you a better explanation.

Few Antivirus software companies (I will not name them), purpose fully spread a script that is often known as Virus by the mass population.

So once every one in a city or country raises alarm on the infection and search for a solution on how to remove them.

Then the Antivirus Company that spread the script (Virus) in the first place, will rewrite a code to turn the Virus down and will sell their products to mass public. This is how it works and this is how they earn.

If there was no virus, there would be no Antivirus software companies. They desire to earn, so simply they have technical experts, hackers, in their company so that they can create such codes.

An interesting point to note is that, “Only the company that released the virus can decode the virus. You cannot remove the virus using other Antivirus software’s “

Now you understand how it works. You may feel that this is unfair.

Yes, it is unfair but nothing can be done as there is no evidence against the companies.

Twitter Hacked by ‘Iranian Cyber Army’

Posted by Tommy On December - 18 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

Another embarrassment for Twitter.com, it has been hacked again. This time by a group that claims itself to be “Iranian Cyber Army”. Ok, its got a fancy name. And to make things work looks like they have been hacked by group that might be linked to Hezbollah.

Twitter Hacked

Users hoping to find their latest tweets were instead greeted by a black screen with a green flag.

Above the flag, in Arabic, read: “Hezbollah is victorious.”

On the flag, in red Arabic writing: “Yassin” (an Arabic name written in bold) then in smaller Arabic print “the feast of peace.”

Below the flag was more written in Farsi.

In English, the hackers wrote: “This site has been hacked by Iranian Cyber Army. U.S.A think they controlling [sic] and managing internet by their access, but they don’t, we control and manage internet by our power so do not try to stimulation (sic) Iranian People To…..
Now Which Country is embargo list? Iran? Usa?
We push them in embargo list ; )
Take care.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week was quoted by a senior official as saying, “Using the Internet and Twitter against the Iranian regime is something extraordinary that the U.S. can do.”

There is no evidence at this time that Iran or Hezbollah is behind the attack.

Twitter and Facebook the place where bloggers, users hang out was  hacked by hackers for atleast 2 hours this thursday.

Both the Networking sites have not only the users but celebrities , president, sportsperson and many more  Powerful person in the world along with the users.

The hacking was called DOS Denial of service. Though they successfully disrupted the service for few hours, this type of attack wont benefit the hackers in financial way, the experts adds here.

“Attacks such as this are malicious efforts orchestrated to disrupt and make unavailable services such as online banks, credit card payment gateways, and in this case, Twitter for intended customers or users,” said Twitter co-founder Biz Stone on the company’s blog.

The purpose of the attack is unknown but the nearest guess is that, the hackers would have wanted to stop the service for few hours for fun . Or the next possibility can be to show the world how they can tap the biggest site online.

The services resumed in twitter by posting a blog post . Face Book on the other hand reported the crash but said the site was still online.

“No user data was at risk and we have restored full access to the site for most users,” spokeswoman Brandee Barker told the AFP news agency.

“We’re continuing to monitor the situation to ensure that users have the fast and reliable experience they’ve come to expect from Facebook.”

This incident shows us that the hackers can really destroy any type of website.
