‘It was sort of fun along the way. I got to hit lots of balls over five months, experiencing the joy of batting again. But as soon as it required the important running bit, the old problems kicked in,’ Crowe was quoted as saying in New Zealand media.

“I said from the start it would end in tears with an injury,” he said.

“No tears, but frustrated after a lot of hard work getting ready. So that will do.”

‘No regrets,’ he added.

The ICC world cup match between England and South Africa held today in chennai, India will be remembered for a long days to come by the local fans as well as England fans for the thriller it provided them.

England successfully defended their low target of 171 for 10 against the giant South Africa. As the saying goes low scoring matches will be the real threat to watch, this match was not an exception to that.

As a cricket fan myself, i will remember this match for long days to come.

The match begin with England winning the toss and electing to bat first.

The England opening batsman started the innings very disastrously by falling very easily to the South African bowling making the score 15/3.

Jonathan  Trott  and Ravi Bopara were the real star for the England team today as they both build up a solid partnership ,thereby completing their respective half centuries.

As they continue to go forward, South Africa bounced back with an explosive performance by restricting England to 171 for 10

One would expect SA to easily walk away with a win, but the result was different.

South Africa started the innings with very much as they used to in any other matches. They were solid in their batting.

SA lose their first wicket in the form of Smith when the score was  63. After which the collapse of SA batting began as batsman had no clue for English bowling, in particular, Graeme Swann’s attack.

In the end though, SA lost the match with just 6 runs in the scoreboard. SA end their innings for 165 for 10.

Ravi Bopara of England was awarded the Man of the Match award.

Man of the Match Ravi Bopara says that he came to know last night hat he would be playing. Adds that it feels great to be back into the side. Says that he never expected the side to be 15/3, especially with the quality of players at the top. He too, did not expect the pitch to turn so much, but adds that in an IPL game in 2010, his team had defended a target of 120, so he was sure that the spinners will come into play.

Ireland defeated England in the group state match of the ICC World Cup 2011 held today in chinnaswamy stadium, Bangalore, India.

Ireland has scripted history by successfully chasing down 328 runs thereby becoming the first nation to make such run chase.

Boy, i dont know where to start. I am thrilled to the core.

Kevin O’Brien and Alex Cusack are the deserving candidate to be praised. Both the cricketers have scripted their names in the history of Cricket.

Kevin O’Brien became the first man to score a fastest hundred in the world cup history. He scored 100 for just 50 balls. Holy cow! Thats just brilliant.

Exciting isnt it!

The match started with England elected to bat. The England batsman didn’t disappoint as they whack the ball all over the ground. Trott, Pietersen and Ian Bell scored a marvelous half centuries taking the England  score to 327 for 50 overs.

In reply, the Irish started the innings very badly as they score very slowly and wickets going down regularly in the other end. At one stage, Ireland were 111 for 5 in  24.2 overs.

When everything seemed lost, there came a hope for Ireland with the coming of Kevin O’Brien and Alex Cusack. Man, they batted superbly. Hats off gentleman.

Kevin O’Brien scored fastest century in the world cup history taking out Matthew Hayden of Australia. He scored  100 runs of 50 balls. Alex on the other end played a sensible 47 runs  before getting run out.

The match then became very interesting as the new batsman John Mooney played a sensible innings along with Kevin O’Brien.

When all seemed set for Ireland, Kevin got run out when the Irish score was 317 for 7. In the end though, the day belonged to Ireland as they scripted history today.

Ireland successfully defeated England to open the points in the point table.  Kevin O’Brien of  Ireland was awarded man of the match

Ricky Ponting Smashes TV After Run-out!!

Some reports are being published online that Ricky Ponting smashed a LCD TV after he was dismissed by run-out in a match against Zimbabwe in this World Cup. Looks like somebody has some really serious anger issues.

This happened in the dressing room where the reply of how he got out was being telecast. But yes, Australia did win the match. It was Australia’s 91-run victory against Zimbabwe.

“It is true that Ponting smashed the LCD (TV) in the Australian dressing room,” Gujarat Cricket Association secretary Rajesh Patel told AFP.

I think he must have been frustrated at his early dismissal. We have informed the International Cricket Council as well as the Australian team management about the incident.”

Well, I just hope that he doesn’t break any more TVs just because he can’t play well.
