Lol, a good way of defending your act. But the truth is what you have said cannot be taken back Roland.

Roland Schoeman,an South African swimmer  on Saturday called an Indian spectator ‘monkey’ because he was shouting, shouting, shouting and making noise.

One thing i dont understand is that, if you take soccer, football, cricket all the fans support their home country and shout like buffons. But Mr. Roland dont find that a noisy situation???

A more accurate example i would like to mention is the latest  Cricket tournament that happened in South Africa. The tournament that was named Championship trophy 2010 saw Chennai Superkings Vs Warriors ( a local south African team). In the match, the South African fans shouted like hell all over the game and when they realized their team (that is Home team) made into Semi Finals they shouted like …… To use the word of Mr. Roland Schoeman   “Monkeys”.

I ask, Has the fan got no authority to shout and encourage their home team. Why did he call him Monkey.

If his own country man does that, he says its ok but if its from other country where people are black then there is an issue for him.

I am utterly disappointed with this . In my view, the Swimmer has lost his respect.

Here’s the defending comments from the South African Swimmer

“It wasn’t meant to be a racist remark — in South Africa when someone calls you a monkey they mean hooligan,” the Pretoria-born swimmer said after winning the 50 metre freestyle silver.

“You know it’s an absolute disgrace. There’s a guy in the stands just shouting, shouting, shouting. Someone like that needs to be ejected from this place,” he said.

“It’s unacceptable to be at a professional event like this and have the stand and have people going on like monkeys. That’s not acceptable. Someone like that does not deserve to be here.”

Schoeman said his remark was not a general comment on the crowd as a whole.

“The comment was aimed at only one individual who was acting like a hooligan,” he said.

HIV originated much before than previously thought

HIV, a virus that rattled the world with killing of the host which it infects was originally termed as the most deadliest virus of all time. It is because till date the cure of HIV  is unable.

Now, that explains the problem which the human society is facing thanks to HIV.

HIV origination was dated to 20th century where it was claimed that the  Humans got infected with virus through monkeys.

To raise a question to the above theory, a new study reveals  HIV  goes back much before in time than previous expected. The study further says, the ancestor of HIV virus is Simian immunodeficiency virus and dates this virus atleast between 32000 years to 75000 years old.

“HIV is the odd man out because, by and large, all the other species of immunodeficiency viruses impose a much lower mortality on their host species,” said Michael Worobey of Tulane University.

“So, if SIV entered the picture relatively recently as was previously thought, we would think it achieved a much lower virulence over a short timescale,” said Worobey.

But our findings suggest the opposite. If HIV is going to evolve to lower virulence, it is unlikely to happen anytime soon,” he said.

The study also raises a question about the origin of HIV, which scientists believe evolved from SIV

“Something happened in the 20th century to change this relatively benign monkey virus into something that was much more potent and could start the epidemic,” said Marx.

“We now have this little island that is revealing clues about SIV, and it says, ”It”s old.” Now we know that humans were almost certainly exposed to SIV for a long time, probably hundreds of thousands of years,” said Worobey.

I reckon, the discovery of whereabouts of how the virus evolved will help scientist to develop the cure to the virus. Lets hope for the best of the human society

Monkey trapping person will receive 200,000 Yen

Now this is what i called a fortunate bounty. Lol!

Mishima, a vacation town that sits at the foot of Mount Fuji in central Japan, said Wednesday it will pay any citizen who traps a monkey indoors 200,000 yen ($2,390) in cold, hard cash. Plus, of course, compensation for any property damage that might ensue while said trapped monkey awaits the arrival of authorized removers.

The decision comes after numerous reports of ravaged monkeys attack people and bite them off. Whoow, Scary!

Yeah, as said, a center regularly flashes on the updates of the latest monkey sighting under a name “a biting monkey alert” that announces where the monkeys are heading and urges people to trap it.

The announcement in particular is very clear in asking the people to trap it , and not to hold it fearing they be bitten as well.

But so far, no success, as the monkeys from the wild take the battle to the core!

“It’s dangerous so we’re asking people to trap the monkey, not try to capture it. Otherwise they risk getting bitten,” said a Mishima town official who works in the agriculture department.

The town official said capturing the monkey is harder than it looks. “It is very fast. They climb up onto roofs and other such high places and we can’t just walk up there and expect to catch it.”

So far, the 200,000 yen bounty hasn’t made a bit of difference. The monkey continuous to cause ravaged by biting people of the local.

Monkey Born from Two Mothers

Monkey Born from Two Mothers

The strangest of the strange has happened. This is what happens when you give a bunch of monkeys to Scientists. But yes, this is really advanced science. Looks like scientists have managed to produce monkeys with genetic material from two mothers. This would really help mothers having inheriting diseases give birth to a healthy child. Now that the good part is over, it will also led to a lot of legal problems, ethical and social concerns.

The monkeys were produced using cloning related techniques, where they found a way to replace the most of the genes in the eggs of one monkey with genes from another monkey. Then they began to fertilize the eggs with a sperm, transfered them back to the animal’s womb and produced healthy off-springs. This would’t have made the news if the off-springs were deformed, which the scientists somehow always manage to do.

“We believe this technique can be applied pretty quickly to humans and believe it will work,” said Shoukhrat Mitalipov of the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, who led the work, published online Wednesday by the journal Nature.

“This is of great importance. This approach will be beneficial to many families,” said Jan Smeitink, a professor of mitochondrial medicine at Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands.

“With this you have potentially three genetic parents,” said David Magnus, director of Stanford University’s Center for Biomedical Ethics. “This will create the potential for legal and social conflicts.”

They say they have developed it for the benefit of women with DNA disorders who pass them to their off-springs also. But to me it just looks like they were playing with the genes and EUREKA! they managed to do something and made up a story.

Well, if it is indeed beneficial them its good. But they need to carry out more tests to confirm it. Cause this is just the output of one successful test. They are lots of chances for the off-springs to become deformed when they grow.
