WTF, this is crazy and unfair to omit a player who is not just a player but a world class icon. England Player Kevin Pietersen  have been excluded from the team for both one dayers and T20 international against Pakistan.

He has been told by the board to play the county and improve the batting. This is utter nonsense if you ask me.

According to national selector Geoff Miller, “Kevin Pietersen has been omitted from both squads as we feel that his game would be best served by getting as much cricket under his belt as possible before a long and challenging winter”

“The remainder of the county season is an ideal opportunity to do just that…

“Kevin has proved on numerous occasions that he is a world- class player and we know he’ll benefit from getting more time in the middle to work on his batting and get his game back to the level he has shown throughout his career.”

Honestly they are barring him from the team so that he could win them Ashes in the winter. What i question is why dont they do the same with other players.

If i was handled as Kevin pietersen, i would have quit the game. After so much commitment for the team. Pieterson is still treated this way. Shame!!!

The Twenty Twenty World cup man of the tournament tweeted,

“Done for rest of summer. Man of the World Cup T20 and dropped from the T20 side too.”

Also, Pietersen tweeted “Naturally Disappointed” and immediately deleted the tweet fearing that he may be treated the same way as the English County player Azeem Rafiq who was banned from all forms of the game for 1 month for showing disappointed towards management via tweet

“While I’m naturally disappointed to have been omitted from the England squad I fully understand the reasons why and will be doing everything I can to get back into the England team,” he said in the ECB statement.

“I have no issue with the selectors omitting me from the limited-overs squads and my sole focus now is working on my game ahead of an exciting winter.”

Pietersen,we love you, dont be broken for this. We are sure you will raise back and come strong soon.

Heat is on the Australians after their poor show  in the finals of world t20 despite being rated the favorites for the cup.

As always, Australia’s  lost to England has brought such a backlash towards Skipper  Michael Clarke fearing the fact that  they may also  lose  Ashes which starts this December.

Australia’s playing legend Ricky Pointing has come forward for the defence of his team mate Michael Clarke praising him for the type of character he has shown in the field.

Pointing lauds Clarke for his commitment and fight back his team showed in the World Cup. He further stressed that  Australian team is ready for the Ashes Challenge quoting  “We Want to play test against India to prepare for the Ashes. India is the top ranked test team  and have proved to be tough challenge, he added.”

Australia is on a tour schedule to India starting this October and have accepted the offer of playing more test in India then the one-day matches.

News from West Indies is that England defeated Australia to clinch their first ICC t20 world cup 2010.

Boy what a match. England dominated all the three aspects of the match with brilliant bowling, fielding and exceptional batting. Australia  just stood  answer less to English Attack.

The match begin with England  winning the toss and choosing to field first. England Bowlers  damaged the Australian batting with  3 wickets for just 8 runs in the 3rd over. Match then became interesting as Australia vowed fightback with the Hussey brothers and Cameroon white .

David Hussey scored an valuable half century with a knock  of 59 runs which was the stand out innings of Australian attack.

To be honest Australia was uncomfortable from the start of the match itself. They had no answers for England attack scoring just  40 odd runs for 10 overs.Australia still managed to score  147 for 6  in 20 overs.

England started out with a shock wicket of Michael Lumb for just 2 runs, which led  inform Kevin pieterson to come to the crease. Along with  Craig Kieswetter, the duo made a brilliant partnership of  over 100 runs.

Pieterson tried to be a hero and lofted a shot for the bowling of Smith and got  himself caught in the deep. The match become nervous when  Craig Kieswetter got out in the next over itself.

But captain Collingwood and Morgan made sure that the Cup reach home. Collingwood scoring the winning runs for the team.

Craig Kieswetter was awarded the Man of the Match Award. Player of the Tournament goes to Kevin Pieterson

England have finally achieved their   40 years dream of winning a maiden ICC  cup.

I am  really shocked now and in confusion from where to start to write on this excellent match which the world witnessed today. Brilliant is the best word i can describe on the match between Australia and Pakistan. Australia defeated Pakistan to reach the final of the ICC t20 World Cup , West Indies

Match Statistics Australia Vs Pakistan, the 2nd semi final.

The 2nd Semi final started with Australia winning the toss and opting to bowl first. The decision that led to criticism after what Pakistan did to  Australian bowling. Kamran Ukmal, Salman butt and Umar Akmal tore apart Australia bowling by scoring boundaries all over the field making themselves a massive score of about 191 for 6  after 20 overs.

Australia start was the score losing successive 3 wickets before the end of power play itself. Cameron white  showed real character as he tried to change the momentum of the game hitting 6 sixes. There was a moment  where Pakistan felt  White is unstoppable forcing captain Shahid Afridi to change the fielding repeatedly. White lose hope and tried to loft the ball straight for the bowling of  Aamer and getting himself out in the deep.

Captain Clarke was again a failure in the game. Which led Michael Hussey to the pitch. And Australia required  124 runs in 10 overs.  Boy! after all the matches which i followed  , I  have never seen Hussey with such a character. Hussey played a slow sensible start in the beginning and then killed the bowling at the end.

And the climax of the game  is Australia won the match and enters Final to face England

As said by the commentators, Pakistan had  38 overs of the game with them. Last 2 overs belong to  Australia.

West Indies:   The Words from the center tells that  Australia, England, Pakistan enters Semi finals of ICC world t20 2010.  The fourth spot has to be decided with the result of today’s match between India and  Sri Lanka followed by West Indies and Australia.

Its been a real astonish tournament as far as i have seen any cricket tournament. Pakistan gets a lifer, England and New Zealand were expected to reach semi finals. After New Zealand lose to England in their final group 8 match, Pakistan gets in to semi finals thanks to the Net run rate they maintained.

If Australia defeats west indies by huge margin and India defeat Srilanka with huge margin  , India  goes to semi final.

If Australia defeats west indies by huge margin and  Srilanka defeat India with huge margin  , Sri Lanka  goes to semi final.

Today’s Match Hold the key for the fourth spot

Netherlands win a stunning Match with England by the margin of 4 wickets. This was the World T20 opener in England homeground  Lords.

Earlier, Netherlands won the toss and decided to field first. It seemed a bad decision earlier of the play where England was scoring over 9 run each over. Its all thanks to their star batsman Ravi Bopara who scored a magnificient 46 runs and Luke Wright played a rocking knock of 71 runs for 49 balls. But they cannot convert it to the big score and managed a par level of 162 for 5.

Well that was defendable though. England as the experienced team over Netherland was confident  to defend it. Netherlands doesnt tour or play cricket as much as England do. As said by the Cricket Commentators, T20 can be any team game. This was the exact thing happened today in the ICC world T20 Opener.

Tom  de  Grooth of Netherland played a brillant knock of 49 runs of 30 balls. And also got the contribution from all players defeating England  by 4 wickets. He was rewarded the Man of the Match for his knock.

Now the worst part of  match is England’s fielding. England players showed a very poor show in fielding, missing almost 7 runs out. And thanks to the overthrow made by the bowler Broad in the last ball of  the over, Netherland ran 2 runs to make it in the Winner side. Each over they missed couple of run outs and granted runs. It  seemed as though not  one player can attempt to throw at stumps properly. Bopara missed a very simple basic run out.  Broad have missed 5 times of his own bowling.

Here’s the decider now, if  England want to stay alive in the tournament they have to beat  Pakistan by very big margin on June 7.

Finally, as England supporter i have been led down as a fan. Com’on man show them who we are. Fight like Lions next match and win it for  us.
