Scotland Yard warns of 26/11 style attack on London

Posted by Shane On December - 20 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

In the “bluntest” warning issued by British police, Scotland Yard has said that businesses in the city of London could face a Mumbai-style terror attack early next year.

“Mumbai is coming to London,” said a senior detective from SO15, the Metropolitan police’s counter-terrorism command.

The detective said companies should anticipate a shooting and hostage-taking raid “involving a small number of gunmen with handguns and improvised explosive devices”, ‘The Sunday Times’ reported.

The warning ? the bluntest issued by police ? has underlined an assessment that a terrorist cell may be preparing an attack on London early next year, it said.

Patrick Mercer, Chairman of the Commons counter-terrorism sub-committee, said the threat was “very real”.

Officials now report an increase in “intelligence chatter” – communications captured by electronic eavesdropping agencies.

One senior security adviser said the police warnings had intensified and become much more specific in the past fortnight.

Britain troopsBritain has finally woken up for the call from the soldiers who are battling for the dignity of their nation.

Many soldiers are getting hurt serving the nation and not well looked up. To honor the soldiers, Uk government has opened up an Army Recovery Center, UK first ever in Edinburgh.

The centre will have a 12 bed facility unit. You may wonder why is this necessary. Well,  the reason behind is, a soldier gets badly hurts and he goes to home. Some take  months to recover. After recovery, its been very hard for them to catch up with the unit. Their Skills will be also lead to questioning.

In order to avoid this , the army center is opened which is to say Appreciable.

A spokeswoman for the centre said: “This new extension to the Erskine home aims to bridge the gap between hospital and Army life.

“It is state of the art, with a gym, internet cafe and individual bedrooms with specially adapted bathrooms.”

This is the first purpose-built convalescing centre to be launched in the UK and is being used as a pilot scheme.

If it proves successful, the scheme will be rolled out across the UK.

The police quote this robbery as most perfectly executed and said this is  the second most money robbed throughout Britain. The first ofcourse is the robbery of 50million euros which also relates to a Jewellery shop.

Now, you wont believe this. Both the robbers, Successfully got hold of  43 items from the shop. Ah, this act requires some holding up and they did exactly the dirty work.

One of the staff of Graff Jewellery were taken along the robbers and they did 2 gun shots in open air to make things happen for them.

The people who entered the jewellery were neatly dressed, police says.  The Police release the CCTV of the robbers and it can be noticed that

“The first suspect is described as white, about 30 years old, slim and between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall. The other man is described as black, in his 30s, 6ft tall, more well- built than the first suspect, with very short hair”.

Det Ch Insp Pam Mace from the Flying Squad said: “This was a well planned robbery with a number of vehicles used to help the robbers escape.

“These men are extremely dangerous and fired at least two shots in busy London streets as they made their getaway.

“Someone knows who these men are, they would undoubtedly have spoken about it beforehand or boasted about it afterwards.”

As usual though, the robbers used cars to escape the scene of crime  and changed the vehicle occasionally to make thing Easy on them and difficult for police to trace.
