Roland Martin Exits CNN

CNN’s political analyst Roland Martin has been asked to leave CNN as per the decision made by new president Jeff Zucker.

Roland Martin last day with CNN will be April 6. CNN refused to renew his contract which ends in the first week of April.

In his letter, Roland says that he will leave the network at the conclusion of the two-month extension that was added to his contract in February. He also had positive things to say about his time at CNN.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my little over six years there. There are many folks I will miss dearly, especially wonderful colleagues like Josanne Lopez, Soledad O’Brien, Ali Velshi, and so many bookers and producers.

But I also miss the folks I tried to speak for and represent the most when I was on the air: the men and the women who worked on the crew; the security guards; and even the janitorial workers. Those were the people I most spoke for; those were the people who would cheer me on as I walked down the streets, in the grocery store; and at airports.”

Roland assured his Twetter followers that he don’t disappear after leaving CNN, he tweeted:

I’m getting a kick out of folks who think I’m retreating to a monastery when my @cnn deal expires April 6.y voice won’t be silenced, folks.

But when people asked why he was leaving he simply put it as “new boss wants his own peeps”.
