Abusive Tweeting can get you Jailed

Who would have thought that some random rants in twitter can get people jailed? Well, it has happened.

A man and a women have been jailed for sending abusive tweets to a feminist campaigner Caroline Criado-Perez.

They have both been jailed for the improper use of a communications network.

Isabella Sorley, 23, of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, who also targeted Stella Creasy, the Labour MP for Walthamstow, was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison.

John Nimmo, 25, of Tyne and Wear, was jailed for eight weeks.

They had pleaded guilty at Westminster Magistrates’ Court to improper use of a communications network.
