Man Arrested For Visine Poisoning!

A man in California has been arrested for alleged Visine poisoning. His girlfriend in recovering in hospital after he allegedly put Visine eye drops in her drink.

A 27-year-old mechanic, Shayne Carpenter has been arrested by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office in Grass Valley, California and booked under the charges of poisoning and domestic violence.

What the police say is that he had a fight with his girlfriend and put Visine eye drops in her drink making her to feel ill.

Lt. Steve Tripp of the Nevada County Sheriff Department told ABC News affiliate KXTV News 10 that Carpenter’s girlfriend became suspicious after finding texts on Carpenter’s phone to his friends about the alleged prank gone wrong.

“He was making texts to his buddies that if ‘She’s going to be talking crap then she’s going to be crapping,'” Tripp said.

The police say Carpenter’s girlfriend hadn’t been feeling well, and after seeing the texts contacted police.

As part of the investigation the police had Carpenter’s girlfriend talk to him about the alleged poisoning over the phone.

“We got admissions from him over the phone, when he was admitting to her, that he had done this,” Tripp said.

According to officials, Carpenter’s girlfriend, whose name has not been released by police, was treated in the hospital and released.

Carpenter was released from jail Friday after posting a $25,000 bail.
