Accused “Craigslist Killer” Philip Markoff committed suicide at Nashua Street Jail in Boston, where he was being held awaiting trial in the slaying of Julissa Brisman, 26, who was visiting from New York, according to Steven Tompkins, spokesman for the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office. Apple manager arrested over $1 million in kickbacks

An Apple manager with responsibilities for the company’s contract manufacturing in Asia was arrested Friday and charged with accepting kickbacks. German economy sees ‘record’ growth of 2.2%

The German economy grew by 2.2% in the three months to the end of June, its fastest quarterly growth in 20 years, official figures show. “Such quarter-on-quarter growth has never been recorded before in reunified Germany,” the national statistics office, Destatis, said.
