Thfire.com Everyday news that matters Nintendo seems to be all set to launch its 3DS video game handheld. But it seems it wants to keep the suspense on. So far, it was only revealed that the launch date and the price for 3DS will be made public only on September 29th.

According to Bloomberg Japan (via news tracker/translator Andriasang), Nintendo says it’ll tell all at the end of September, including when you get it, where you can get it, how many it’s planning to ship, and how much it’ll cost.
Since E3, we’ve heard rumors the 3DS could sell for as much as $250 and even £200 in the UK, but The Official Nintendo Magazine reports that figure could actually be high. Nintendo UK’s marketing manager James Honeywell apparently told ONM that while the company hasn’t made any formal price announcements, “the Nintendo DSi is available for around £129.99 [and] the Nintendo DSi XL, with the larger screens, is around £159.99.”
“So obviously, it’s going to fit, kind of, somewhere within that kind of architecture.”
The takeaway: $250 certainly doesn’t “fit” in the current DSi price architecture. The U.S. DSi sells for $169.99, while the DSi XL goes for $189.99.
