David & Victoria Beckham Expecting a Girl

Posted by Tommy On March - 15 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

The Soccer star David Beckham and his wife Victoria are expecting a baby Girl this July. David Beckham himself has confirmed this news!

David Beckham announced the news at an L.A. Galaxy fan luncheon as ESPN reported.

“Obviously, we’re very lucky to be expecting again, and this is the first time I’m going to say it: It’s a little girl,” Beckham shared.

“We’re still in shock. Obviously, having three boys, you kind of expect another one, so finding out a little girl is in there is surprising, but, obviously, we are over the moon,” he added. “Our three boys are happy and excited, and Victoria is doing well.”

In February, the fashion designer, 36, insisted she didn’t yet know the sex of her fourth child, but said she’d be happy with either.

“We know what to do with boys,” said the mother of sons Cruz, 6, Romeo, 8½, and Brooklyn, 12. “But, if it’s a girl, we’d be over the moon as well.”

You heard it right! A 10 second ad slot for the world cup finals may cost upto Rs. 2.4 million if only the local favorite India reaches the finals predicts ESPN Star sports, the official media partner to telecast the 2011 Cricket World Cup.

The readers should note the current market price for the 10 sec ad slot is unknown. Rumors are out that it is about Rs. 300,000 to Rs.400,000.

“If India does well and reaches the knockout stages, ad spot rates could jump up significantly, as high as five to six times of the existing rate,” ESPN Software India Pvt Ltd Executive Vice President – Ad Sales & New Media Sanjay Kailash told media.

“If India makes it to the semis then increased demand will be seen from new advertisers who have not bought already. Rates will be more driven by the demand and ESPN will want to maximise given that they are already the last two or three matches,” ZenithOptimedia, senior vice-president Naveen Khemka said. Cost efficiency can be overlooked if brand objectives are met, he added.

In the end, we can say this world cup will bring the favors for the broadcaster only if the local champs India enters Semi final or final.

Considering the current critics, India has a 70 percent chance to enter the finals.

Whow, this means ESPN Star sports gonna have treasure in their pocket. Lol!

The World Cup 2011 is scheduled to being this feb 19,2011.

We wish all the team a very  good luck

Keith Olbermann Fired from MSNBC ?

Keith Olbermann leaves MSNBC

Keith Olbermann leaves MSNBC

Keith Olbermann, one of the most popular faces in News and sports Keith Olbermann has left MSNBC. They have been 8 years together but now they are parting ways.

A statement from NBC Universal revealed the move late Friday.

“MSNBC and Keith Olbermann have ended their contract,” it read. “The last broadcast of ‘Countdown with Keith Olbermann’ will be this evening. MSNBC thanks Keith for his integral role in MSNBC’s success and we wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Olbermann announced his departure on his Friday night show.

In the mundane world of television goodbyes, reality is laughably uncooperative,” Olbermann said before launching into a story about his exit from ESPN 13 years ago.

As God as my witness, in the commercial break just before the emotional moment, the producer got into my earpiece and he said, ‘um, can you cut it down to 15 seconds so we get in this tennis result from Stuttgart,‘” he said, half-smiling, pausing for composure.

So I’m grateful I have a little more time to sign off here. Regardless, this is the last edition of Countdown.”

Olbermann thanked his crew and co-workers, with special praise for the man he called “my greatest protector and most indefatigable cheerleader,” Tim Russert, the host of NBC’s “Meet the Press” who died in 2008.

According to New York Times, Keith Olbermann has at-least 2-years left in the 4-year contract worth 30 million dollars.

CNN was reporting that the reason for Keith Olbermann’s exit was due to the fallout of the purchase of Comcast of NBC and the exit of company head Jeff Zucker.

ESPN announcer Ron Franklin sweetcakes remarks against co-reporter Jeannine Edwards made sure that he is pulled off from his play-by-play duties!

According to Sports by Brooks, Franklin called ESPN-TV reporter Jeannine Edwards “sweetcakes” when she attempted to join a conversation with ESPN announcers Ed Cunningham and Rod Gilmore during a production meeting before Friday’s broadcast of the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

When she told Franklin not talk to her like that, Franklin reportedly said, “okay then, a-hole.”

Edwards then reported Franklin’s comments to ESPN management. After confirming the incident with Cunningham, the network tried to pull Franklin off Friday’s broadcast but were unable to find a replacement due to the late notice.

Will Muschamp to head choach Florida

Posted by Shane On December - 11 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

After waiting too long for coaching Texas, Will Muschamp has decided to turn the wheels and jump to Florida.

ESPN.com’s Chris Low is reporting that the Florida Gators have hired Will Muschamp to succeed Urban Meyer:

Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp has accepted an offer to be the head coach at Florida, sources told ESPN.com’s Mark Schlabach.

Muschamp, who just finished his third season at Texas, where he was the head-coach-in-waiting to succeed Mack Brown, replaces Urban Meyer at Florida.

The sources said Muschamp was the only person Florida interviewed.

If this is true, I say fantastic. Don’t get me wrong: I have no doubt that Muschamp is a great coach and that he has the potential to lead Florida to plenty of success. If he didn’t have the look of a potential head coach at a powerhouse program, Texas never would have agreed to make him the head-coach-in-waiting, and his experience in that capacity means that he’s been groomed for the role by coaching great Mack Brown.

However, Muschamp has no head coaching experience. Given the choice between Muschamp and Dan Mullen, Bobby Petrino, or Bob Stoops, who would you pick? I’d pick Muschamp over anyone who has proven that he can succeed as a head coach, and frankly I’m surprised that a program like Florida–perhaps the nation’s premier program–couldn’t bag more of a sure-fire coach

Laurence Maroney Traded to the Denver Broncos

Posted by Shane On September - 14 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

The Laurence Maroney story can finally be put to rest in New England.

The Patriots traded the running back and a 2011 sixth-round pick to the Broncos on Tuesday for a 2011 fourth-round pick, according to ESPN.com, ending the rollercoaster ride known as Maroney’s career in Foxboro.

Maroney, a 2006 first-round draft pick, never matched expectations, and his Patriots career hit rock bottom when he was benched at the conclusion of the 2009 season.

He never took a snap with the first-team offense this preseason, and he didn’t even play in two of the Patriots’ four exhibition games. Maroney was inactive with a thigh injury in Sunday’s regular-season opener against the Bengals.

It was eye-opening to see how little use the Patriots had for Maroney this summer, and all signs were pointing toward the two sides moving in separate directions, whether he was released or traded. With four other running backs in New England’s crowded backfield — where Fred Taylor has temporarily assumed the starting role — the Pats also had the luxury of moving Maroney without sacrificing a major part of their offense.

Speculation insists the 2011 draft will be thin, particularly in the later rounds, due to the high quantity of underclassmen who declared for the 2010 draft. So, after the Pats surrendered Maroney and a pick just to move up into the fourth round next year, it’s telling how far Maroney’s stock had fallen in the Patriots’ eyes.
